Same. Going back to high school, my friends and I would try to see all the films nominated in the major categories. Oscar night used to be fun, with rooting interest in certain nominees, as if it were a sporting event.

This year, I had one friend recommend Nomadland if I wanted to feel depressed. Other than that, the most in-depth conversation we've had about a recent movie was Godzilla vs Kong.

I did see Sonic, too. No one I know believed me when I said it was actually good. I may have tuned in if the Academy had given it any love.

I was hoping that black on black crime or basically shooting each other will be addressed but it’s only cops shooting blacks. Sad.

I did look at the lists of nominees and decided I didn't care. Tonight I looked at a few sites with Oscar dresses the "women" were wearing: many were wastes of fabric, many wouldn't have been allowed in a liberal high school's prom, and it's a damned shame that hairdressers and makeup personnel were on strike this week.
