I still always yell to someone walking up to about to have a good time with: “Ahoy Polloi!”

People always mention Murray, Chase, and Dangerfield but Ted Knight was amazing in this movie. Judge Smails was the ultimate comic movie villain.

It's easy to grin
When your ship comes in
And you've got the stock market beat.

But the man worthwhile
Is the man who can smile,
When his shorts are too tight in the seat.

There's not a male alive 60 years or younger who has been on the golf course that hasn't done a rendition of Cinderella story.

It wasn't in the highlight video, but when Ty And Carl were in Carl's apartment and Carl just randomly spits always cracks me up.

I heard the other day on the radio did Harold ramis wanted the whole soundtrack to be by Pink Floyd. I didn't catch everything the DJ said about that but I thought that was interesting.

Interesting tidbit about that scene..... it wasn’t written in the script at all and then towards the end of production they realized their two biggest stars (Chase and Murray) weren’t even in a single scene together.

So they simply put Chase and Murray together in Carl’s apartment and they ad-libbed the entire thing. No script at all. Chase and Murray nailed it.

That’s a movie I wish I could have seen in a theater as an adult, without knowing what to expect

I saw it in a theatre when I was 18.I was getting my car fixed and some time to kill and had hadn't heard much about it.I believe it got some pretty bad reviews.

Thought Rodney was unbelievable along with Ted Knight.

I’ve always thought that Ty and Carl scene was ad libbed because when Ty hits his ball in Carls place and Carl walks up he is laughing a little off script. Great scene. When he tells him how to deal with Smails by cutting a tendon he’ll start pushing the ball: “ he’ll quit the game”

From Wikipedia:

quote:

The production became infamous for the amount of drug usage which occurred on-set, with supporting actor Peter Berkrot describing cocaine as "the fuel that kept the film running."

the country club that Bill Murray worked at as a teen is still around in the Chicago burbs. As I recall, he either got kicked out of his Catholic grade school or high school for being too wild.

Judge Smails: I've sentenced boys younger than you to the gas chamber. Didn't want to do it. I felt I owed it to them.

That is a funny line.
