Awesome. Nevermind then.

There is like 3 pages of the value of a partial baseball scholarship at LSU in the mid to late 80's in relation to how well off the family would have to be to make up the difference. People complaining about MM's accent even though he was using his normal speaking voice, Vermilion parish doesn't have anywhere to buy suits that nice, 337 being on a billboard in 95 before that area code existed, sugarcane wasn't tall enough for the time of year.....you know the usual.

The scholarship discussion was a personal favorite in this thread
quote:

I would have liked for them to have shown the Fontenot family as at least middle class economically. If you're playing baseball at LSU you're chipping in for some of the cost. There are no full scholarships. A kid coming from a dirt poor family, and they appeared to be dirt poor, may well opt for a signing bonus than ever stepping foot on a college campus.

this was a serious comment
quote:

What they should have done was show how Skip was funneling money from other entities to makeup the difference for a partial scholarship. They really should have delved into this background characters minor in posession he got at a tailgate while attending LSU also.

quote:

I am hoping they switch focus from murder detectives to the NCAA investigating the Fontenot's. Season finale is LSU self-reporting secondary violations.

these were some sarcastic responses

This was my response to the idiocy.

I'm not going back for more, but I'm willing to bet all the negative nancies about this show up in here are ULL fans that got their jimmies rustled about Woody saying he played ball at USL (not UL) and at the same time acknowledging that LSU baseball players were more elite than himself and others that played at lowly old USL.

I was shocked.

What I'm looking forward too with this show is that since it is only 8 episodes then filler should be at a minimum.

I suspect they will spend a lot of time developing the personality flaws (Rusty is a drunken mutt and Marty is a disingenuous philanderer) and failures of the two detectives which leads to Marty making a decision to allow the the political machine connected to the Gov and the preacher to railroad some village idiot as the murderer for closure because rusty is taking too long and getting too close to the truth. Rusty will be adamant that they have the wrong man but his professional issues and lack of trust with Marty/superiors will discredit him and render his opinion moot.

Marty will convince Rusty to go along just to get along but rusty just cant let it go and the case consumes him

This, although I wouldn't be surprised if the preacher/governor pin it on a black guy - remember the wooden ornament devil catcher things at the crime scene and the shed were created by members of the black church congregation, which was explained on their visit to the church.

There will be a racial angle too, IMO.

No we have six.

****The wiki page is behind for some random reason. My bad. LINK

I don't think they will need to rush anything. But, isn't this show going the AHS route. Next season we'll have a completely different story?
