1) They didn't kill anyone. The kept them alive, not even putting a bullet in them. In a world with no refrigeration, you can't save meat. Keeping them alive is the only way. Also, the train cars with other people in them yelling help.

2) The scene where Rick is teaching Carl about the trap...making a path. Terminus is a trap for people.

3) The shot of the bones in the fenced area. They are somewhat bloody, and not dark and rotted as if from walkers.

All this. They are definitely cannibals

What makes you say that with such certainty?

(I know why you are, btw)

It seems like a possiblity, but it's just an educated guess at this point.

The big pile of mutilated and fileted skeletons they ran past didn't stand out to you?

I mean, it was bloody skeletons. Don't know why you'd automatically think "fileted" as in food without some prior knowledge that cannibals are involved.

because they were in a pile and they were cleaned ie you could see white bones and no signs of decay. Also the herding them into the trap with the allegory of the trap from Rick earlier. And the obsession with fixing them a plate. Look at the grill its pork ribs, but its meant to be Long Pork.

All the signs are there except for the fact that it doesn't make sense. This still America where everyone would be disgusted at the thought of cannibalism unless extremely desperate, they are in a large fenced in facility with some amount of electricity, the ability to grow food and a decent amount of human labor. If that's the direction they're going I'll suspend my disbelief, but it just seems like it'd be a hard sell for people capable of producing their own food. Slave labor would seem the more logical way to go than cannibalism. Where do all of the people of Terminus go? Are they in the rec room watching TV? Again, canniballism seems like a bit of a stretch given their capabilities which means it will probably require a bit more explanation than one episode of "we're cannibals and you're dinner".

the fact that they went out of their way NOT to kill them and, as noted earlier, pushed them to the railcar area (just like rick showed cah-rul) is pretty much a dead giveaway, imho

Since its obvious they are cannibals to anyone not being willfully ignorant this isn't a spoiler. The Hunters in the GN were shitty hunters that were lazy and found it easier to trap humans. They weren't thinking straight which is the whole point.

I agree that's what all of the clues were alluding to (the shooting is the most important one IMO), but Liberty is 100% positive that they are cannibals. And there is a reason for that. That's all I'm saying.

That's my point though...you, a comic reader, are in this thread confirming to nonreaders that these are cannibals. All we have is assumptions based on what we saw in the episode, yet here you are confirming things...comic readers have been "waiting for" cannibals to show up for about two and a half seasons now (and have said so in non-comics threads).

That kinda sucks IMO (though others may disagree).

I didn't make up my mind that Terminus is cannibals until I saw the episode last week. If Mary wasn't grilling them obvious Long Pork and randomly forcing a plate of food on them. I wanted Terminus to be a legit safe place that Rick was overly suspicious of.

The farming flashbacks were the perfect opportunity to end the show revealing that Carl had something hidden in his hat.

When it fell off his head right before the credits rolled, I was expecting Rick to notice it thus giving us 6 months of anticipation knowing that Carl was going to save the day.

My husband said he thought Rick or Carl found a grenade a few episodes back...it sounds vaguely familiar, but I can't remember if that was recently or in a different season, or if it's been used already. Anyone remember that?

Are we really debating if they are cannibals or not?

Using absolutely no clues or knowledge from the comics, I'm saying with 100% certainty that they are cannibals.

Rick took a grenade off the Tank Walker in S1, then Carol found it while washing his clothes and kept it. They used it to escape the CDC.

Sort of.

What I think is up for debate is how simple the situation is. ie will the "Escape from Terminus" be 1-2 episodes or half a season or more.

the show confirmed it to me they were cannibals not my prior knowledge. This arc has just started and it is so different we have no idea what is going to happen. Which is what we have tried to get across to non-readers for years now. What I think is going to happen is entirely based on what I saw in the show.

Which has been the point I have maintained the whole time. I haven't spoiled a thing intentionally since I found out the way it went down. Non Comic readers are just movie board hipsters that are looking for trouble. If I was looking to spoil you would think I would have been posting actual spoilers on page 1 of the thread. But no this arc is absolutely different in one episode and we have no way of knowing from our prior knowledge how it would play out. I honestly thought until last week Terminus could be legit.

Without the GN none of us would be 100% certain, but they put too many pieces of evidence out there for it to be misdirection.

I guess you're missing my point.

It's one thing to have nonreaders in here assuming it's cannibalism (which I do and most seem to agree on). Discussing that, and why, is cool and fun.

It's different to have readers in here confirming this with certainty because they know that cannibals are in the comics and there is only a matter of time before they're on the show.

TigerATL made a perfect case of why to doubt cannibalism (even though that's what it seems to be pointing to).

well it's set up so harshly that they're cannibals that i'd consider it fricking retarded if Terminus wasn't cannibals

now, i'm not trying to be critical of the show, as i have a history of, but if that occurred, it would be insufferably terrible
