So any show with a cliff hanger has jumped the shark? wut?
no but continually using the bait and switch or misdirection in place of good writing or plot advancement is a sign of it

Glenn saved Rick's arse in Atlanta and knocked up Maggie. I'll say that's pretty awesome and he's a strong character too

well, avoid craigbiggio's link if you don't want comic book spoilers...

Those lines were apparently directly from the comic book, which sounds like it was written by a 12 year old.
Wellllll, not exactly word for word. The comic version is a little more "colorful."

He's a shitty actor and a shitty character IMO.

I'd be ok with Glenn dying. I sort of want him to die with all the bullshite almost deaths.
And to me this series has no humor or color outside the funny lines from Eugene and Abe. I do NOT want either of those gone. They crack me up.
I don't want Daryl gone either, but it would be shocking/interesting and they could devote a whole episode on the aftermath of his death. Hell, they'd probably do some montage with Beth welcoming him into heaven or something weird like that.

Mb, I edited. Thought that was common knowledge at this point

Yeah cliffhangers don't work when you foreshadow someone's death and the new villain's arrival for nearly an entire season. If Negan/The Saviors had just popped up out of nowhere in the finale with no mention of them previously, the cliffhanger would've worked. The writers did a great job of slowly building tension and dread for Negan's arrival only to pull the rug out from under the viewers at the last second.

That would be AMC censoring the shite out of Negan although pee pee pants city is in the comic books
Yeah, they can't possibly let Negan talk the way he does the book, frickity fricks and what the frick nots.

Does Negan always talk that much? I expected a lot of dialogue with all the buildup but it felt like he just kept going on and on. I can't imagine all those guys just sitting there without a few thinking just hit somebody already!
I am looking forward to how the remaining core group reacts to whoever dies and what they do going forward. Personally I think it's Glenn but who knows. I would like to see some time spent showing how Negan runs his operation just to see more of the size and scope of it. Not sure how Rick and Co. take them down without major help.

overconfidence as Achilles heel seems to be a theme with this show
negan and his group are nothing if not confident
I'm excited to see where this goes also

killing Glenn or Daryl would hammer home the point that truly nobody is safe. Glenn because of his miracle escapes, Daryl because he's a badass.
Glenn is a terrible character now. He was a lot cooler in S1 being the quick Asian guy sneaking around
I kind of hate this show now. In the past, I've expressed my gripes of the plan to run this show for 20 seasons with no conclusion, but it is now even more apparent this show is going nowhere. It's a daytime soap opera set in the ZA

How's this for a first post?
Right before the victim meets Lucille, Negan's shadow can be seen on the right side of ricks face moving in a rightward direction. From Rick's POV this would be the left side of his face moving in a leftward direction. The order of the people to the Rick's left are Sasha, Aaron, Carl and Eugene. We know Carl and Rick aren't the victim as Negan says if anyone moves, we'll feed his eye to his father. Sasha, Aaron, and Eugene remain as possible victims.
Eugene is the most likely victim because he just became expendable by giving Rick instructions on bullet manufacturing. The title is also Last Day on Earth, and the Savior who threatened Rick saying to treat people on that RV like it's their last is probably a good hint too. It at least means someone on the RV would be killed (the Savior told the group on the RV that one of them would have to die when he proposed the deal at first). Eugene got all the respect/affection from the group like it was his Last Day on Earth. He was basically saying his good-byes. No one else was treated like it was their Last Day on Earth. I doubt writers/producers would pass up symbolism/metaphor like this.
I'm not sure why they would bring Aaron back after a while just to die, as Eugene was developing into a character honestly attempting to prove his worth to the group by making bullet, trying to fight walkers, standing up to Abe for taking his dibs kill, and going on what everyone in the group pretty much seemed to understand was a suicide mission (Last Day on Earth).
I think there is extra reassurance for Glenn and Daryl fans. From the POV of the victim, Negan is approaching from the right side (glenn is safe, because an approach from this direction would mean Negan is off to the side of Rick's group not in front of them). Why would Negan kill the Glenn who just got the freebie a minute ago? I doubt Daryl is the victim because I don't think Daryl could "take it like a champ" as he had already been shot it makes less of a statement to beat the hell out of the guy who's already wounded. Daryl's death couldn't affect much of the storyline besides hurting fans and Rick & Co's feelings.
Eugene's death would be kinda lame in my opinion. It does make some sense that Negan would kill the guy that went on the suicide distraction mission in a way.
I think Glenn deaths would provide more avenues to explore for S7 though with my analysis they are not likely right off the bat.
A point for Glenn's death is that his contract expired at the end of this season, but do we know if anyone else's contract is up?
TL;DR -
Eugene meets Lucille because shadows and metaphor/symbolism of being treated as its his Last Day on Earth.

Agree with Eugene for the reasons you gave
Glen is too obvious

It really is. And this season finale was equivalent to a soap opera's Friday episode.

Until you remember the writers like to use misdirection and drop the ball.

I rewatched the episode just now and it was actually not a bad episode at all. It was actually quite good a second time. The scene with Negan was excellent. He's going to be such a good villain. A very likable villain.
And the cliff hanger scene pissed me off again, but I think a lot of people are judging this episode too harshly based on the final seconds. It is what it is and all, and TWD is going to keep chugging along, but I would recommend those who are up for it to watch it again.
