I don't buy the "So and so was in POV earlier in the episode so it must be him" theory.

Imagine instead of a cliffhanger our original group, Rick's crew, all get killed off at the end. Seeing the situation that they're in let's say Negan doesn't need "workers" and slays the crew. That would've been a jaw dropping moment in TV history. Start season 7 with a whole new cast with all new back stories. Probably too many fans getting upset to keep it going but talk about freshen up what some consider getting stale. Negan seems interesting enough for people to be intrigued and tune in for at least a few episodes.

I think Michonne is the safest character on the show aside from Rick and Carl.

They aren't gonna kill the strong black female lead.

Although I wish they'd kill Sasha. She sucks

This episode has a 5.6 rating on IMDB. Like every episode has an 8.0 at least with maybe a 7.8 or 7.9 sprinkled in.

I just gave it 1 star.

I am not sure as to Negan's exact words after the first blow, but they were along the lines of " you didn't even flinch" or something along those lines, implying that it was someone strong?

That finale was blueballs-inducing. Like you're about to get to the finish but someone kicks you in the balls. They slowly built up tension for Negan the entire episode, then yank the rug from under you right at the apex. They should have showed who it was, laying there on the ground, panning out and fading. That's an ending everyone would be in love with, because you get to see the end of the huge buildup, but there's still the whole situation with Negan going down that you want to come back for.

Awful ending.

I think it's Glenn or Daryl. They have not offed a main character in a long time, and killing Glenn or Daryl would hammer home the point that truly nobody is safe. Glenn because of his miracle escapes, Daryl because he's a badass.

"Jumping the shark" is an idiom popularized by Jon Hein that was used to describe the moment in the evolution of a television show when it begins a decline in quality, signaled by a particular scene, episode, or aspect of a show in which the writers use some type of gimmick in an attempt to keep viewers' interest, which is taken as a sign of desperation. Hard to better summarize this episode than that.

So any show with a cliff hanger has jumped the shark? wut?

Has anybody commented on Negan's dialogue? Those lines were apparently directly from the comic book, which sounds like it was written by a 12 year old.

For example, the phrase "pee-pee pants city" was included.

Morgan is a good actor for the role, they just could have improved his dialogue, among other changes that would have helped the episode.

Oh and my two pennies on who got wacked: most likely a male character who was there, not named Carl and Rick

That would be AMC censoring the shite out of Negan although pee pee pants city is in the comic books

Not necessarily. But The Walking Dead has.

Right. They didn't need a cliffhanger. Fans would be in shock over the loss and the group's defeat and virtual enslavement. Plenty of room for discussion about how they can get out of the predicament and turn the tables. Unless the lost character is someone we don't care about. That's the only reason for the cliffhanger, IMO, and doesn't make it any better.

Heck, they could have ended with Negan choosing his victim, before the execution. Going through with it but keeping it hidden from view was just such a let down.
