I have no idea, just thought it was interesting that they both said "I'm out" and then Nicholas decides to shoot himself when he was out of bullets.
I hadn't thought about that. Good point.

He was out of bullets for walkers. He had been thinking about offing himself for a while.

That makes sense as well.

frick it, I hope he did die and the talk of him coming back is just as a walker. We haven't really seen any main characters that died come back as walkers. It'd be cool.

Nicholas didn't shoot himself either. They said they ran out of bullets and started using knives to kill zombies before they jumped on the dumpster. How did he manage to get another bullet to shoot himself?
Zombies have learned how to use guns of course.

Okay, so Captain Suckass shoots himself and takes Glenn down with him when he falls off the dumpster. However, he falls on top of Glenn, so the zombies devour him first. There are, what, maybe 8-10 walkers actually ripping Nicholas apart? The rest are trying to get there, but there's no more room at the buffet. So, when Michone and the rest of her group start popping off at the walkers following them, if draws the a portion of the walkers off of Glenn, and when the wolves get Rick'd right in their asses, the gun fire draws off the rest. That means that Glenn now has a manageable number of walkers to deal with.
That is my theory.
Nicholas could've easily turned his head at the last minute, which gives evidence to the blood splatter on Glenn's face.
Are y'all telling me when Glenn fell during disorientation and shock from the suicide that not one extremity portion of his body was exposed in the fall, even if underneath of Nicholas? Glenn's entire head and neck was exposed after his fall. Moving a dead body off of you to crawl underneath a nearby dumpster while being swarmed and not being bit, would be a little fantasy writing. The weight of the feeding zombies alone would pin you underneath the body. I find it very hard to believe he could push up Nicholas' dead body, with the weight of feeding zombies, in order to hide his extremities from being bit and wait for a rescue team.
You have a human instinct to fight or flight when faced with danger and/or impending survival or death. Glenn would've been moving his body to escape or fight just as he was screaming and moving his head while the zombies swarmed him at the end of the scene.
I believe it was a fantastic death for Glenn as he had a soft heart for weak individuals, dating back to episode one, one who ultimately ended up getting him killed. Sometimes our human emotions overpower our brain because we have a desire as a species to survive even if it welcomes our own death especially in an apocalyptic world. There isn't a better way for Glenn to go out in my opinion.

"and the episode certainly foreshadowed the former pizza boy’s demise, opening on his desperate flight through the woods; giving us a brief glimpse of the pocket watch given to him by Hershel in season two; throwing in a couple of mentions of poor Maggie waiting back home; and allowing him to send one last message to Rick via walkie talkie — where he even managed to slip in an affectionate “dumbass” — which was how the duo first made contact way back in the show’s pilot."

This gives some credence to the whole hallucination theory I mentioned earlier in this thread.

I agree. Would be the lamest resolution possible

I raised the possibility last night with my wife that someone else shot Nick. They were supposedly out of bullets and the blood splatter doesn't match where Nick was standing in regards to where Glen was standing.

If so, they have impeccable timing.

I think one plausible explanation is that the walkers behind the dumpster end up rolling it over the top of him as they push towards the shite. It's possible that this could keep them upright and away from Grant (the new Coral).
You can actually see a wheel on the dumpster right behind Grant's head.

Exactly. No way does Nicholas body completely cover Glenn all the way down to his toes. His legs are certainly exposed (unless they are under the dumpster, which is impossible since he just fell from it). With all those walkers in a feeding frenzy around him, and him lying still for at least a few seconds, and part of him certainly exposed, how could he not get bit?
I loved this episode, until I started reading speculation that Glenn is still alive (and I liked Glenn).

Why in Gods name unless you planned on being somewhere for a while would you ever turn your car off? By a while I mean hours.

To conserve gasoline and not draw walkers to the sound of your running engine.

he was even driving in the proper lane during a zombie apocalypse

Nicholas could have just said he was out of ammo even though he knew he had one left just so he could end it himself if it looked like they had no way out.
I know if I'm ever in the ZA, I'm always saving that last bullet for myself.
frick getting eaten and ripped apart alive.

Holy shite, I hadn't thought about that, but you're right. I guess it's possible that he saved a bullet for himself, but that wouldn't match up with his actions. They were both popping off walkers left and right trying to get out of the situation. It's unlikely that he was counting bullets as he fired to save one for himself.
And it would also potentially explain the weird blood splatter as well.
Great fricking call.
