Yeah, this episode sucked but Glenn had it coming.

I actually thought he was dead before talking dead but now they have done the memorium and didn't say his name but they showed him falling and said don't let it be true. not sure how he could survive because he was yelling under the other guy, even when they went through Nicholas, they would still have him yelling and go get Glenn too.

There's at least 100 zombies surrounding Glenn. Even if he uses Nicholas as a shield, they can still eat him all the way through to Glenn. The only thing that could save him is a big distraction out of nowhere and that would be terrible writing.
