Serious question: What miracles has God performed recently that would be the equivalent of parting the Red Sea?

One other thing I thought was cool - After the Israelites had made it across the Red Sea and it closed back over the Pharo's soldiers, one of the extras did a great Mel Gibson shout out, yelling FREEEEDOOMMM.
I chuckled pretty hard when I saw this
I couldn't help but think of William Wallace.

I saw the preview for next week and my question is why is Samson black and Jesus white????
Because who cares? What race they were has no importance to their place in the story whatsoever.

would you believe that text when the bottom line of teh story is man had sex with two daughters?
Why wouldn't you? Incest is something that has been around forever. It's 100% plausible and considering the times, not surprising
I believe you misunderstand the discussion taking place between me and another poster. He suggested I had probably not read the passages (blaming Lott's daughters as the vixens who decided to get their father drunk and seduce him).
My response to that is it is a ridiculous story that no one should believe. The bottom line is a man had sex with his two daughters. IMO there is no person who should honestly tell you his daughters got him drunk and that's why he fricked them. If you also gave me the back-story on him (in which he offered his virgin daughters up to an angry mob to be gang-raped) I would be even more certain the man in question was an evil sociopath.

They took a good bit of liberties and left out a lot of stuff. Wasn't awful, but I think the adaptation wasn't done super well. Some of the acting, casting choices, and the script isn't very good.

What if Jesus was black?
Well. the shroud of turin would look quite a bit different and JJ's paintings on Good Times probably wouldve sold for a lot more money
Those are two things right off the top of my head

What kind of God tests someone by seeing whether they offer their son as human sacrifice?
The sacrifice of Isaac on mount Moriah was symbolic of God the Father offering up his son Jesus as a sacrifice for the world. The wood that Isaac carried on his back was symbolic of the cross.
Plus God had no plans of Abraham killing Isaac and instead offers a lamb instead. Again, the lamb sacrifice being symbolic of Jesus, the lamb of God.

Don't do this. Watch the show or don't. I don't want this thread to get whacked because of a religious argument.
How is a thread about the bible going to be whacked for biblical content?!

I always thought the Abraham/Isaac story was somehow designed to indicate the move away from human sacrifices which were likely present in ancient cultures in the area (and, of course have existed in other cultures long after that time period).

see that makes much more sense
