Official Star Wars Episode 9 Discussion SPOILERS thread

Yeah yeah I know we have the leak thread and the Megathread. This is the thread for discussion of the movie once you view it, which I am doing in 15 minutes.
Let’s get it over with folks.
Okay quick short review:
It’s not great, it’s not TLJ/Solo horrible, I’d say it’s right around ROTS which is where I felt it would be. There were some genuinely great moments, some horrible moments (you’ve already seen them), and a whole lot of just there moments.
Lots of missed opportunities and you can tell they splicedtogether several different versions of the story together.
I will say, I love that Mark Hamill got to essentially say frick You loud and clear to Rian Johnson.

I'm in line with you on that. The reviews have been a mixed bag so far and I am really leaning towards not bothering. I might see what other movie lines up with the starting time and sneak in to not give them money.

I'm trying to figure out the best way to describe it-
perhaps if they made a "007" movie, but 007 is no longer James Bond. It's a chick instead, and we learn that Bond is a retired alcoholic bum living in a nursing home or on the streets, after selling top-secret info to both the USSR and Spectre. And the new 007 is busy exposing all the naughty things the US and GB did in the Cold War, which makes them look awful.
Yeah, let's do that next.

Adam Driver deserved better from this trilogy. He owned every scene he was in. Hopefully his career take an uptick following this.
This also frees up the Star Wars universe for stories post DT and apparently that is where Kevin Fiege wants to make his contribution to it all.

For fricks sake. The only thing horrible about Solo was the timing of its release. It wasn't a bad movie. Not great, but people shite on it for absolutely no quality reason.
