In the same vein, I'd recommend Julia X, starring none other than Kevin Sorbo as a serial killer. Like Ghostland, it has alot of flaws but it is brutally violent & entertaining throughout.

We're talking serious trash here, but the kind that horror fans will appreciate.

Just watched Smile 2. Without a doubt, way better than the first movie & better than The Substance. I was not a fan at all of the first Smile but I'm all in on this sequel. Loved it in every way.

Naomi Scott was incredible in this movie.

Guess I’ll need to check it out. I couldn’t stand the first Smile. Thought it was awful.

Watched In the Mouth of Madness last night. Still a classic (even though I wish we could clean up some aspects of it).

I liked it okay enough, but it was not overly good outside of a few creepy parts. Glad to hear the sequel is better though. I'll definitely check that out once it hits streaming.

I know I am super late to this but I've been watching The Haunting of Hill House and it is fantastic.

I've heard that but I never wanted to sit down and start it

Now Midnight Mass....that was great.

Hill House was very good. I like it and Midnight Mass about the same. Very different shows, but both equally good in their own right.

Hill House has one of the better jump scares that I’ve seen in recent memory. I did a rewatch earlier this month and totally forgot about it and spilled my drink, again

Yea, it had some good moments and a few good high points, but it was just so boring between those. The ending took me completely out of it.

Watched Mouth of Madness and Smile yesterday
Mouth of Madness was pretty good once I got into the 80s campy-ness

Smile - I wanted to like it; the trailer for Smile 2 looked really good. It was okay - it felt like an It Follows rip off. Really the same premise if you think about it. The reveal at the end was a bit underwhelming and the ending overall was not surprising.

Man, I watched the first half of this last night and was bored out of my mind. I absolutely hate it so far. Please tell me it gets better in the second half.

The only redeeming thing about it is the sheer creepiness of the spider puppet.

I did go back and finish this a few nights ago. The second half was a little better I guess. But nothing of substance really happens until literally like 6-8 minutes left in the movie. And then it sort of ends very abruptly. It's just okay IMO, and not very good. But the spider puppet effects are really well done though. That remains the best aspect of the movie for me.

MadS - French zombie outbreak film shot as one continuous take. Subtitles but it’s not too bad a read. Pretty fun. Lots of blood, very little gore. Lack of nudity even though you’re practically begging for it. Extremely drug fueled. On Shudder.

Just finished The Conspiracy (2012) again. Such a great horror movie.

Best found footage movie of all time (and I know it's a fake documentary but that's a subgenre of FF and I'll die on this hill).

I started History of the Occult last night but was dead tired so I only made it about 20 minutes in. I wasn't digging it so far though. It was sort of boring. I plan on finishing it though.

The Conspiracy is much more straightforward narrative than History of the Occult. It's an A to B to C thriller-horror movie.

Loved this. It almost lost me because I usually really hate the type of thing they did (don’t want to spoil it). Glad I stuck with it because they pulled it off when few do and it was actually clever. It just worked.
