The penn st stuff was supposed to be "in your face and uncreative" so they managed to accomplish that.
If that is really true then I am disappointed with Matt and Trey. They are better than that.
That is the perfect way to handle all the unoriginal motherfrickers that are coming out of the godishdamn woodwork thinking they are amazing comedians spouting off Penn State jokes. I am sick and tired of all the jokes? Can you tell I don't like people who think they are funny when they are incredibly trite?

The only argument you could have is when Cartman said that the Penn State jokes are just recycled Catholic jokes.
Honestly, I do not give a frick what their stance is on this issue. Most of the Penn State jokes I have heard prior to this episode were not funny, but they brought their A game and laughing a ton.

The dude was handing out head shots trying to become a comedian (the ultimate hack comedian reference)
How did you miss that?
Or when cartman says: "all you are doing is taking something topical and rehashing old catholic jokes"

Ok, i got it then. They were making Penn st. Jokes through the guise of a lame comedian. I didn't miss it. And I disagree with the premise that they were subversively making a statement about all the Penn st. Jokers just based off of that.
Sorry, we just disagree. No need to feel sorry for me though.

That's how it has always been. It was spelled out for you in the episode.

I thought that was pretty clear but reading the thread nobody seemed to pick up on that. I guess we have a lot of hack comedians on the site

and cartman making fun of his own mom, i could go on and on.
My mom is so poor she doesn't fly off the handle, she has to take a greyhound.
My mom is so poor she was walking down the street with one shoe on, someone stopped her and asked if she lost a shoe and she said "no I just found one"
My mom is so poor...
it just kept getting better

Exactly, they just don't like being made fun of. Or are so caught up in themselves they can't see it.

This was the best yo mamma joke of the episode.

This episode's premise (aside from ripping on papst, poor people and meth, the agnostics) was all about old, tired, unfunny jokes that are repeated ad naseum by people who think they are comedic geniuses for telling them when really they are just idiot hacks.
You mean you can't draw the conclusion from an obvious "wannabe comedian" who was a child services worker (the ultimate person who shouldn't be telling Penn st jokes) telling Penn st jokes that climaxed with cartman turning to the guy and saying "dude, just stop with the Penn st jokes, they aren't even funny, all your doing is taking something topical and inserting them rehashing old catholic jokes" and the obvious correlation to the unoriginal, unfunny Yo momma jokes?
It wasn't that hard to read between the lines, at least I thought it wasn't.
But we can agree to disagree I guess,

I think it may have been a little of both, sometimes Trey and Matt just want to tell really dumb jokes and you don't need to look deeper than necessary. Did scrotie mcboogerballs teach you people nothing?

quote:This is what I related it to. It reminded me of the Mel Gibson episode where Mel is in his underwear and throwing poo at Kyle and Kenny. I was like "okay, I guess this is suppossed to be funny". But it was just dumb.

As far as to Cartmen's comments, I heard that part. He basically told the guy he wasnt being funny. But the headshot guy was supossed to make us laugh earlier in the show. As far as Cartmen's Yo Mamma jokes, after about 3 or 4, they weren't funny either.
The shoe one was clever because I hadn't heard tha tone before.

The more I think about it, this makes the most sense to me. They did knock the old, recycled joke angle, but if you think Matt and Trey didn't enjoy those Penn State jokes then I say you're crazy.

The fact that the guy was giving out his headshots definitely guarantees they were making fun of shite comedians.
