I have a feeling that Mansell's hot girlfriend is going to help Raylan out somehow. She's getting fed up with his bullshite, she's ready to go to Aruba and smoke some good weed

I do agree that episode 6 was better.

The last episode was a big improvement. I am really needing to see Raylan take someone down. I felt like in the original series even if the story didn't call for it they would just bring some random guy in every so often to be shot or outsmarted by Raylan.

I came very close to turning this lame show off when Raylan's love interest told a random 1960s civil rights lunch counter story to make a point about right and wrong.
Way, way, way too contrived.

This show sucks, Oliphant should have peached out on this script.

Maybe that’s why the audience that this show was originally targeted towards have a problem with it, but the people that watched the original series also have a problem with it.
Some people pay bills and some don’t.
The original Justified before the world went to shite in a hand basket was just fine.

I got to four episodes in and I'm out. This show sucks.

Good for you because FX and Tim didn’t get the message. The original episodes compared to this mess, is a mess within itself. It’s one thing to watch something in name only, it’s another thing to watch something that can’t take it’s self seriously.

Everything you guys are saying is true but I'm still watching simply because there is absolutely nothing else on. Maybe I'm nostalgic but Rayland is the OG

Best episode of the series to date.
But it's not Justified and he's not Raylan Givens.
Perhaps that will change in the next two episodes.

Last episode was better. Series sucks but the last episode was good. Hopefully it’ll finish strong

I bet they do some heavy fan service in the last few episodes.

Just finished episode 4, and came here to confirm that this Hallmark special of a series didn’t go there. Instead you confirmed that it did. Raylan never would hook up with ugly fatties. They don’t get his character at all, and they forced this stupid SJW hookup on us for the sake of the agenda.
Yup, I’m done. I’ll just continue to rewatch the GOAT original justified. The dregs can have this one

I’m right there with you. My all time favorite series just got plot raped and I got MeToo’d. I’m letting my brain’s defense mechanism do it’s job and erasing this crap from my memory bank.

They should never have called this Justified, because it isn't on any level. To do so is insulting. It's the equivalent of pissing on our boots and telling us it's raining.
Instead, they should have just called this City Primeval, and let the lead character be Detective Raymond Cruz, as it was originally written by Leonard. It should have been a stand alone series. Perhaps then it could have spun off into a bunch of other Raymond Cruz stories.
If Timothy Olyphant and the directors would have thought he could pull off being Cruz, then let him go for it. Otherwise, put someone else altogether in the role.
They wanted to capitalize on the success of Justified to get the old fans on board. It lead to a huge disappointment because the two characters are just not at all alike.
For the record, I too have given up on the show. I don't even know if I'd still be watching it strictly as City Primeval at this point.

You nailed it with your entire post. I will add one other nugget to the "this is not Raylan" examples: He makes he daughter sleep on a freaking cot while he gets the comfy bed.
No father does this to his daughter, and especially not one who's been shown time and again to go out of his way for the people in his life. What shitty arse writing.
Are these the same showrunners as the OGJustified? It sure as shite does not feel that way.

The gun that Mansell killed Sweety with, is that the gun that was supposed to be hidden behind the jukebox?
Nevermind, question answered.

Can someone explain why Raylan went with the Albanians and why they would want him in the first place?
Posted on 8/23/23 at 4:16 pm to MetroAtlantaGatorFan
So the lawyer is working with the Albanians? Why did the Albanian drop the gun in the river? So the female cop is compromised, but why? What does Mansell have over her?
End of the last episode left me confused.

Because the Albanians would rather torture/murder Mansell then have him go to prison.
I assume the female cop is in the judge's black book.
I bet they kidnapped Sandy too and now have the book.
