This. I've always hated the Schaffer shite. They need to leave fricking will Ferrell out of it.

WTF? Season 1 Schaffer is one of the best characters on tv ever.

When Shane gets on the screen more, half of the people in this thread will say "I'm so tired of Shane." "Jason Sudeikis isn't even funny."

The dinner party could have been executed better. It just wasn't all that funny like it they tried harder than needed to be funny. Like I said, everything before that was solid gold.

There were 50 directions they could have gone in. This one itself was hilarious.

Shaffer is maybe my favorite Farrel character. He's so hilarious that most of the shite they do is improved. That laughing scene at the end between kenny and janowski was legit. they were laughing at the all around absurdity of that whole damn scene. I saw nothing wrong with anything that was done. It was all funny, weird, and just made you laugh and go wtf. none of it has to make sense.

What the frick are y'all expecting from Eastbound and Down? It's supposed to be ridiculous.

I know its supposed to be over the top. But at what point do you draw the line?

you throw enough shite at the wall, and eventually some of it will stick. That is how I think of EB&D now. I laugh a few times an episode, but some shite is like "WTF"? Who thought that was funny?

Every single little thing out of Power's mouth is attempt to get a laugh. Most of it doesn't work. Some of it does.

Season 1 was different. The jokes and 1 liners were more calculated. Kenny said shite that was ridiculous, but it wasn't everything out of his mouth. It was enough for you to say to yourself, "Would someone really act this way?" And you'd say yes. Because Ive ran into people like him before in life. In baseball. At the gym. At work. In Chalmette. Wherever. Just that unbearable chach that thinks his shite doesn't stink.

It has gotten to a point where anything said and done, i say to myself, WTF? No one acts like that in real life. IT is like everything is for shock value. Dressing a man up as a Geisha to try and impress business associates? Putting a kid in a backpack? Let the fat spanish lady right in a folding chair in the bed of a pickup with the baby in her hand? The Apocolypto ending with the cannonballs. All that happened in 1 episode. Think about that.

the dinner scene would have been funny with just the dialect alone. The whole Mammie thing i found funny. The southern accents.

In the past it was at least straddling the wall of reality which made it fun. Now the spaceship has just taken off. It's no longer in the atmosphere. The writers have just lost all touch of reality. I expect it to be ridiculous as you say. That is what made it great. But it's way past that line at this point.

If you think of situations that are so far out of reality that you can make anyone do anything and pass it off as comedy... That is easy to me. And do that enough to where eventually someone will laugh hard enough to forget the bad parts. Seems lazy. I still enjoy the show but its not the same

i'd like to pretend that season two didn't happen. with that in mind, if the dinner party is the ceiling to how ridiculous it will get, then the show will be ok. if not, then i'm not sure how much longer the show will last. the cannon ball scene, the mammie/redneck rape thing, geisha, etc. were just fricking weird.

I thought that scene was pretty damn funny. I mean, Ashley Schaeffer is such an over the top character anyway, it just seemed to fit the ridiculousness of him.

Watched it last night, late to the party.

First 20 minutes of the episode was gold. They definitely lost me in the last 10 though. I was just sitting there with a WTF am I watching look on my face. Kenny in the beginning running around with the baby was awesome.

"Toby, you got to stay close to me dog. I'm moving fast today." or something like that
