almost every single person said it was amazing.

I hated Man of Steel from the second I left the theater. I was pumped walking into it and was looking forward to dissing the critics, but there it was in all it's completely unaware glory. Any chance someone who hated that movie will like this?

Just arrived at the Drafthouse for anyone keeping tabs.

Haven't read this thread (yet).

Just got home here in Madison from seeing it on the IMAX.
Initial impressions:
7/10 for me. I rate the DC recent films in the order of BB, TDK, DKR, DOJ, GL, MOS.

Loved:
Casting of Wonder Woman and Superman.
Scene with Lex and Supes on top of the tower.
The fight between Supes and Batman.
Batman fighting scenes.
Overall intros of the JL members.
Courthouse scene.

Wished was better:
- The soundtrack did the film no favors. So much dour music. Even the fight scenes for Bats could have been much more blood pumping.
-Ben Afleck did well, but I see Chasing Amy sometimes. Not his fault. Bale was more of an unknown to me and it worked a little better IMO. Minor quibble though- he was overall very good.
-Casting of Lex, Lois, Alfred. These all could be upgraded to me to be more true to the comics.
- Film was very dark. Need some contrast somewhere
- Superman still wasn't inspiring. He needs to have some smiles and some da da da da moments once in a while. The ending was more evidence that this writer doesn't get what most fans want to see from the Superman character

Overall I went in fearing the worst and it wasn't the worst. I just could have made it better. Its not the best superhero movie ever made. A couple tweaks and it might have been possible though. I want to see the extended version and I am anxious to see the JL movie because it will force some lightness onto the screen. I just hope we get a righteous inspirational Superman not a constantly conflicted sad hero.

There was two good action sequences where I got giddy as a DC fan. The rest of the movie was complete shite. Superman dies and the world mourns his death. The only problem is, what the frick were they mourning? The parts where Superman was saving people was like a 30 second montage. Is that enough time for people to appreciate him? That was just one of my very long list of issues. I mean what the actual frick did I just watch?

3/10

BTW, that massively advertised fricking fight between Batman and Superman? Complete dog shite. That is all...

Three movie takes place 18 months after MoS. He didn't stop saving people for 18 months.

This is a Batman that's been Batman for 20+ years. The joker broke him by clearly having killed one of his robins. I enjoy this merciless Batman.

You have to establish that in your movie. You can't make a movie on assumptions.

I mean, come on. There was no transition for some scenes. there was a scene where Bruce Wayne came up behind Diana in a tux at a party with no explanation of how they got there.

The Knightmare sequence was completely fricking campy and out of place. Batman fricking mowed people down with a machine gun. He flat out ran over people. He shot at them with a gatling gun.

There was no explanation of hoe Doomsday was created. Lex cut his hand and dropped blood on Zod. Then a fricking abomination creature was born. BTW, he looked like shite. I said this when the trailer was released as well.

I'm going to say it, Henry Cavill is a bad actor.

The Batman Superman fight was terrible. It was slow and campy. The big suit just didn't work.

The explanation for Batman and Superman teaming up was because their moms have the same name? He was just ready to kill him! He thought he was going to become a super villain! That ALL changes because their moms have the same name?!

Lex gives the Justice League their symbols?

The Flash's costume was bulky and he has fricking facial hair. That's right, The flash has a peach fuzz goatee.

frick this movie, frick WB, and frick Snyder.

Also frick anyone else who was responsible.

I know. Sorry. But people will take you seriously. This movie doesn't deserve defense.

Damn. So far two of the biggest supporters/defenders of this film pre-release have melted down the hardest.

That's because we're the people most passionate about the characters. And we see the disaster before us. We must revolt.

People on other DC boards are talking about it. It is Flash but they think it was just apocalypse Flash and Batman stopped that timeline.
