Repo Man is a classic.
Mine would be Alien3 and Bonfire of the Vanities. And, I would say Joe Versus the Volcano, but it gets serious love on this board so I think opinion has turned on that one.

Gee, what do they have in common? Oh, that's right, no one involved in either took themselves seriously.

The Great Gatsby with Robert Redford was panned by the critics. I thought it was damn good and did a good job of sticking to the book.

Roadhouse takes the cake for me me. Very cheesy, but I just can't help myself. I have several friends who feel the same way, and if someone sees it on, they'll just text the channel to the others. Everyone know's what it means.

I liked The Postman. Yeah, it was cheesy with a lot of the dialog, but the premise was cool. And the general was a good villain.
I think its become popular to trash Costner movies even if some of them aren't too bad.

is this ACTUALLY considered a notoriously bad movie?
Posted on 11/30/09 at 11:53 pm to LordoftheManor
Not notoriously, but surprisingly even though most folks think it a classic, it actually was panned and did weaker than expected box office, especially given that Redford was a monster draw at the time, Basinger was at her peak, Close, and all the great character actors involved. And it was a big budget Levinson flick, that even had it's own HBO preview segment(they used to do this for certain movies coming out)
