New True Detective is atrocious

I know theres a 200 page thread already but most of that is political bullshite
Going into it I had mildly high hopes about the setting and Jodie Foster. Didnt care it was 2 female leads. Thought at least Foster could carry a show and something creepy like the long Alaskan night would be intriguing. After 2 episodes I dont know how its allowed to use the True Detective title
MILD SPOILERS BELOW
Foster so far is terrible. All the secondary characters are extremely unlikable. Dustin from Eastbound and Down is just an awful mis-cast. The dialogue from everyone sucks
The setting really doesn’t add anything. They have cops taking selfies with dead ? The only somewhat intriguing thing is the connection to Rust Cohle and Carcosa
And on the “political” spectrum - yes it’s extremely white man bad and dumb

I've tried twice to finish the first episode. Can't do it. Made it 20 minutes the first time and about 12-15 minutes the second time. I'm done. It's garbage IMO.

1 episode, so much rancor in the main thread.
Show offered no compelling reason to continue. Co-lead is distractingly annoying...writing is not interesting...characters unlikeable. It's just using the name of True Detective to garner an audience. If it was called "Butch Alaska", doubt anyone would stick it through.

Im really never like that either, I thought the last season of Lasso was amazing when a ton of people ripped the message
But the dialogue in this show and the actions of the male cops/characters are just silly. It’s almost like its a parody of it’s message

No it's not.
It's pretty obvious that he started in the thread and only got to the point where episode 1 just very recently dropped and there was a couple pages that was mostly focused on the director and other "political" type shite, but the vast majority fo the thread is about the actual show and the episodes we've been presented with. Clearly he didn't make it far then dipped out and assumed the entire thread was about extra stuff.

For me, it's a strange mix of being really interesting/different (which I like) and having some really stupid elements, like the ice rink part and 15 year old lesbians making out
