Anne Thompson is a legit critic

People of incapable of compartmentalizing things. I don’t like some of the casting
But I also don’t completely prejudge a film and I watch it. Someone like Nolan has earned cache so I go in with an open mind.
I WANT films to be good because that’s literally the point of entertainment. Some on here are just absolute weirdos that desperately want failures

Some of you are so desperate for this film to be bad. It’s so weird.
Did I say that? It’s Nolan, it will at worst be competently made. But this was literally two weeks ago:
“Early reactions” have never meant dick. I have no idea how people keep falling for them.

Except it’s well noted that they didn’t do influencer screenings and instead focused on actual critics. All “early reactions” are not equal

Not every Supergirl review was an influencer, there were Rotten Tomatoes verified critics in that camp too.

Comparing this to Supergirl is hilarious

Let’s just be honest here. Even if this movie is successful there will always be a certain group of people that despite any evidence to the contrary will claim it’s a failure. It’ll be moving the goalpost of what is considered successful.
I try not to worry about it and just go see it myself to judge.
I tried to get tickets got IMAX 70mm in Indy and it was sold out.

"Yet, how he tastefully recontextualizes the story for the modern day is what has kept my head buzzing"
Uh, oh

Feel free to start your own thread. You can cry all you want over there

“Early reactions are useless because they’re always universally positive.”
“WHY DO YOU WANT THIS MOVIE TO FAIL GO CRY SOMEWHERE ELSE”
shite’s crazy.

Any RLDSC thread I’ve seen on a movie like this, he’s posted early reviews as well as later reviews. Good or bad.
If reviews bother you, this probably isn’t your thread.

Yes, according to the Rotten Tomatoes score, just under half of critics enjoyed Supergirl.
So what are the rules? Critics that go with a perceived consensus are shills, and critics who break from a perceived consensus are also shills? All critics are shills unless they validate your pre-decided opinion?

Even if they were explained to you in detail you wouldn’t be able to understand.
