And it's his movie, if he wants to do that ok. It may still be a good movie, it might suck, I have no idea. I'll give it a shot on streaming unless it's Madame Web level garbage.

What I don't understand is people implying if not outright claiming that's not what he's doing. He wanted to be edgy with some of his casting choices and apparently the story itself and he's Christopher Nolan and he's got the pull to do that. He could have put aliens in it if he wanted.

But I seriously, seriously doubt anybody involved with this story was surprised that there were negative reactions to at least two of his casting choices. They wanted the controversy and probably discussed it at meetings & how best to respond and use it for publicity.

I am what this board would consider a Nolan fanboy and I have been hypercritical of Nolan's casting decisions of this film from the beginning.

You should see that as a good thing and a sign your mind is healthy.

Same, my boys want to see it so we’re going opening night but all the concerns are valid. If you remember when the 1st trailer dropped almost everybody was struck by the modern vernacular being used and the weird looking armor. Then you had the conflicting comments and choices Nolan made about authenticity regarding music and other things he included like the armor, weapons etc. People weren’t attacking the concerns until the casting rumors started to be confirmed. Only then did we see that certain group begin to attack people questioning the movie.
