Hank sounds off too. Doesn't sound as tired or annoyed as he did in the original.
He's on TRT now. No longer has irritable male syndrome.

What is the story on this?
I'll admit that I didn't see the last few seasons of the original run, so I guess I missed something here.
I assume it has something to do with the oil and gas industry. Still, Hank and Peggy do not seem like the kind of people who would want to live in Saudi Arabia.

It wasn't in the original, apparently it will be explained that Strickland sold the propane company to the Saudis and Hank went to work over there for a decade to make "retirement" money.

Mike Judge discussed this in advance of them releasing the new show open. Hank takes a job in the oil industry and they move to the Middle East where he likes their conservative values. The show is about him coming to terms with how much America has changed since they left.

Everything about this revival looks and sounds terrible to be honest.

I read that he recorded some episodes before passing away

I dont know how fair it is to call this show a revival. While all the characters are technically the same, they're all new as well.
I think the creators of the show aged the characters specifically so that they could tell a new story.
Had they kept the timeline untouched, I'd understand the criticisms.

Hank didn't vote for Gore,
Probably not but it wasn't ever revealed who he voted for. The handshake left him doubtful on voting Bush even Dale asked him if he's was voting the other guy aka Gore and he said he wasn't sure

has forgiven Trump and would never vote for a women...
Zero shot Hank would tolerate a loud obnoxious New Yorker like Hank that's the exact type of guy Hank despises. He certainly wouldn't abstain from voting either given how much he values the process. It's possible he could vote third party as I could see him being put off by some progressive values of Harris.

Toby Huss will be taking over Dale, guy who originally voiced Kahn, Cotton and others.

I just hope they don't ruin the show with too much political bullshite, either way. One of the best things about the original was they did a good job at poking a little fun at things without being nasty about it or blatantly pushing some agenda. I hope they don't screw that up. Fingers crossed

I think we find Hank likes lots of things about Saudi Arabia. He will be fond of the overly conservative nature.

Hank loves loudmouths, he's been lifelong friends with Dale and he's married to Peggy. In fact Peggy and Trump share many personality traits when you think about it.

Agreed. Some of it is fun, too much just become laborious. Basically the whole Trump/Garrison bit with South Park. Not to say there still wasn't funny parts during that like 2-3 seasons for however long it was, but my god did it get tiresome.
I'm cautiously optimistic though. The few little clips that have been released so far have definitely had the right feel.

I can understand the Hank/conservative values thing, but I would imagine that Hank would not trust Muslims after 9/11, and can't imagine Peggy living someplace where there is a lot of oppression against women. I'm surprised Peggy didn't end up in a Saudi prison.

Obviously Lady Bird is no longer with us, he's at the W Library in a preview, is his new dog Laura?
