BOSTON (CBS) — It looks like “Star Wars” is coming to Boston. A posting by the Film & Television Industry Alliance on productionlist.com says “Star Wars: Kenobi” is set to shoot in Boston on Jan. 4, 2021.

“So we’re going shut down all nonessential business! No exceptions....Wait what.....Disney is writing us a check...oh....In that case all non-essential businesses are closed except the film business and whatever restaurant the stars want to go to that night!”

Yup. Hollywood gets paid and tells us to stay home.

Boston seems an odd place to shoot a Star Wars series. Especially since a Kenobi series would need desert shots for Tattooine.

Doesn’t necessarily need to be in Tattooine. A show about Obi Wan meditating on Tattooine for 20 years wouldn’t be very exciting

They are going to Bill Burr’s home planet.

There's going to be flashbacks and such. Wouldn't shock me if a majority of the show was off Tatooine.

Not sure how that would work considering Maul had no idea where Kenobi was until Rebels.

It’s called a green screen.

They don't have to meet face to face right off the bat, show Maul's initial struggle and 2nd rise with the crimson dawn.
That would alleviate some of the "hope it doesn't get boring watching Kenobi in a desert" concerns and I think would make for a good watch, hopefully adding to and complimenting the stories people know and want. IMO Maul has a hell of a story too

That technology will eventually be the downfall of the Hollywood monopoly. It's becoming easier for independent filmmakers to produce high quality productions on a paper thin budget.
