Im going to be an a-hole and bring in race/politics.

Based on that trailer...

THIS is how you do a movie about an Africa-based superhero. They dont need evil whitey/america/imperialists. Yeah i know Serkis looks to be a villain or main villain but i doubt very highly he is meant to represent any of those things. Especially with how prominent MBJ is in that trailer. You often find in movies that while trying to make a political point, Hollywood demonstrates that the only important story they believe African's can tell is how bad they were treated by imperial whites. Its actually pretty racist lol.

This looks to be an awesome, self contained story. If the trailer is an accurate reflection of the movie, well done Marvel.

Fantastic trailer.

On the right hand side of the youtube page, there was a fan-made trailer for Back to the Future 4. Did anyone else click on it? They actually got Christopher Lloyd and MJ Fox to participate, and it was really well done (or they managed to use footage from other sources and did an amazing job at splicing it in). In no way do I think there needs to be another BTTF movie, however that trailer was pretty damned good.

I didn't really know much about the whole Afrofuturism movement until This American Life recently did a piece on it. Anyway, evidently Afrofuturism is having a moment, and this movie looks to be its culmination. Really cool.

thanks for saying it first and being the a-hole. you beat me to it

i feel the same way about this as i do Wonder Woman.

Just give me a good movie.

WW doesn't get higher marks for because a woman/black director or lead, it gets high marks because it was a very well made movie that hit all the points the director was going for and was incredibly enjoyable.

So I am guessing that he has never read a black panther comic book.

Why would any of that be in this movie? I swear people are just looking for fricking reasons to offended.

The vast majority of BP's rogue gallery is black...

i'd guess that may be the case. the problem is that so many people ARE aiming to be offended and grieved on the other side that you preempt it by being offended first. i dunno any more.

regardless, movie looks great and i'm pumped. BP is a super cool character. too bad they can't bring in Storm for a good crossover.

I know I'm in the minority here. That was too over-the-top for me.

I'm fine without here. Their relationship is way to complicated to try and flesh out in a movie.
