re: Needy, psycho and yes, RACIST actress pops off against fans.

She thinks that fans altering the movie poster will instantly remove her from the entire movie.

So you again admit you can’t formulate arguments without your YT overlord daddies to do the work for you.
Touch grass. You spend way too much time posting faux outrage.

Wrong, per usual. The claim was that the news was old and I had just seen it. I don’t know what kind of weird fetish you have with anyone learning information via YouTube, but you really need to take your own advice and go touch grass. The story is as it is. The psycho bint of an actress got twisted because fans of the theatrical version of Wicked wanted to pay homage to the original poster. That’s what fans do. There was nothing derogatory, racist, or mean spirited.
If she were legitimately concerned about the movie and appealing to the core audience, she would’ve applaud the effort and shared it with the rest of her fans.” Look at me! I’m part of this great story that went from stage to screen.”
* Weird that you think anyone has to be told what to think about the story, when the story is straight forward and laid out for everyone to see. The actress herself is the one who went off the rails. There’s not much to figure out!

She won a damn Tony award. You may not like her, but it's hard to deny that she has a fantastic voice.

She is an aggrieved activist.
This is who she is as a person. A vessel of stupidity and ignorance.
Bless her heart.

The thing that made the original poster great was the fricking smirk. Glinda is whispering some sort of mischief into Elphaba's ear, and she responds with a look that says "Oh yeah. Let's go defy some gravity."
The movie version, the look on her face just screams "I'm offended by something and I'm about to make it everyone's problem."

Oh look! Critical Drinker just dropped a video on this topic.
I wonder what he has to say...
What do ya know! He agrees with ME! I guess I'm the one who told HIM how to think about this story!

You are one deranged little goblin. Shame no one in your immediate family has had you committed to the asylum. Or the memory ward at a SNF.

Point to the doll and tell us where you were inappropriately touched.

It was a massive diva move on her part. This was a FAN made poster. Out of respect for the stage version of the show. And worse, she KNOWS this, yet still went unhinged. The studio didn't put this thing out. It was never an official poster. Why'd she bother to comment at all? If anything, she should have owned it as being accepted by that segment of the fandom. Instead, she took some imagined offense and made it all about her.
And yes, anyone can see that. No one needs to watch a freaking video to be convinced this is what happened.
I laugh at those who have nothing to reply with but vapid, pointless claims.

this is the reaction you would expect if they had left the actor her natural color in the movie and a fan photoshopped her green.
Posted on 10/21/24 at 10:56 pm to SouthEasternKaiju
I mean, she handled it very poorly. I feel like it had more to do with the fact that people were talking about her p**** being green than anything else and all the other comments were side effects of that.
The looking down the barrel of the camera thing was ridiculous, and as is often the case, someone who lives in society that is a little bit different than the rest of us. I get it's not ideal for her, but it's such a small thing comparatively to the difficulties that real people deal with. I'll still go see it, because I think her performance will be incredible, but she's not helping things by lashing out at something that she could have addressed better.

I don't believe her. She's acting like she's the 1st actress to appear in green or blue skin or get trolled by some teenager on the internet.
She-Hulk, Guardians of the Galaxy, Star Trek, Star Wars,

I can't recall ever hearing a camera lens referred to a 'barrel' as if it were a gun. Good grief, she's spinning this for all its worth, and trying to paint a picture that she's on par with those facing a firing squad or bravely standing her ground against an oncoming military.
Posted on 10/21/24 at 11:13 pm to SouthEasternKaiju
She overreacted. It's not an overreaction that is worthy of me not going to see a movie that I was otherwise going to see. That feels like an overreaction in and of itself to me.
A lot of movie stars are elitist. If it's a good movie, I'll still watch it.

it could very well be. But the list of insufferable actresses pulling stunts like this (Brie Larson, Rachel Zegler, Amandla Stenberg... ) why stir the pot unnecessarily when studios are already struggling?
Because she's a diva, a full tilt narcissist, and can't help herself.
There's a core audience, no doubt, so it'll pull in some. Unless it's utter trash, it'll probably do OK.
Not anything I'd ever see though.

Which is why it's so weird that you care (especially now that you know this isnt a disney product and, thus, cant hurt disney). We just found out how few people here like musicals. Actresses are divas; more at 5. You and the youtubers have no familiarity with this material or the core audience, and like 4 people here will see this movie.
Sounds like the talented broadway actor is both fragile and annoying, and your posts are just bitching for the sake of bitching.

You mean have I heard of the Wizard of Oz? That’s funny.
So, which came first, Wicked or Maleficent? Right, I don’t care! Because Maleficent wasn’t that bad. Didn’t care so much for the sequel.
Ignoring whether or not I will see, it doesn’t dismiss the fact that it’s a legitimate story being covered by more than just YouTubers.
And yet, for some reason you want to pretend it isn’t.
Weird.
