And we're looking at another average half-season of Community, which will be a lot better than any of that other crap.
Even though Community turned into such a niche show, it still will be one of NBC's biggest comedy hits for a while.
The year we got Season 2 of Community, Season 7 of The Office and Season 3 of Parks and Rec (I think my math is right), it was a golden two hour slot every week.

I'll be interested to see if NBC will allow Community to shine now that they basically have nothing but Parks and Rec on the schedule.
I've got to go back and catch up on the last season of Community. I havent watched a single episode.

had to watch it this morning because I went to saw wicked last night. PRetty good finale but not its best show ever. But a good farewell to the show It really felt natural this time nothing really forced, but still very very funny .
will miss the show but its one of those shows I can watch over and over again and never get tired of it.

Woke up this morning... Still sad
Still think it was a beautifully done wrap up. Better than any finale I can think of off the top of my head

Ill say I think the line of the night, not verbatim, was "Michael has so many pictures of his kids that he has two phones with two numbers with two bills... He's just so happy to have a family plan."
If you had to boil the entire series down to one line that's it.... it's all these goofy characters trying to find that feeling - they are all chasing their own versions of home/happiness/purpose outside work. It's what made the show great and why the random characters to replace Michael and fill the last few seasons failed. I laughed, and it brought back a lot of memories from seasons gone by when Pam said that line... It was nice seeing the old gang all found their happiness.

this was such a great finale
all around
i loved how they made you think for a split second that maybe meredith had sobered up when kevin only saw tea packets in her drawer, then she made it quite clear that it wasnt the case
but what i REALLY wanted to see was whenever they were walking out of the building at the end, the gate to the parking lot being closed and locked, in fact i expected it

Great finale and I am sad to see it go. I have a few thoughts about the last few seasons.
I hated the Robert California/Nellie storyline but I think that it was necessary for Dwight's growth. He needed to be humbled in order to become the manager and friend that would give Pam and Jim a year's pay. Dwight had his chance to be the manager and he shot a gun in the office. He needed to let the job go and know that he did not deserve it. Once he did that, he was ready to be the Regional Manager.

Still sad from the finale.
However, I think it could go down as the best send off/finale ever.

Great finale. I was against Michael returning, but they did a great job with it.

How and why did Dwight fire Toby? I thought Michael didn't have the authority to fire him.

Wondered this as well.
I've had Motley Crue's Angela stuck in my mind since last night.

He had a great sendoff two years ago, but they just had to have him return for the finale. It would've been the missing piece. I wish Holly could've been there with their children. That would've been an exclamation point but it they still made his part perfect. He didn't overshadow the rest of the show.
This is really one of the few finales where there aren't many instances where you can say "They should've done it this way."
There are few comedies that can strike the comedic and emotional balance like The Office did. Even though it had some lean years where people, myself included, wanted it to end, it still might be a comedy that might not be duplicated anytime soon. As great as Modern Family, Curb, and Arrested Development are, they don't carry the depth that The Office possesed when it was hitting it's stride.

Michael missing Dwight's wedding wouldn't have sat right with me, glad Carrell decided to do it.
I'm also glad NBC passed on the schrute spin off, I doubt we get this great ending had Dwight left midseason as planned

this entire last season was great.. my only issue with it was they basically showed a 9 year documentary in 5 nights according to the show.
How hard would it have been to say the documentary was broken into 16-20 one hour parts...
they made it seem like all these fans loved the show but i find it hard to believe that they became so connected in just 5 episodes.
that was something that could have easily been changed and no one would have minded at all.

This may be an answer to that.

I don't know when that was released, but Dwight did say they consolidated last night.

FROM: David Wallace, CFO & (Acting) Director of Dunder Mifflin Infinity
TO: All new and returning Dunder Mifflin employees
SUBJECT: Dunder Mifflin Infinity 2.0
As the Chief Financial Officer of Dunder Mifflin Inc. it's with great pleasure, that I announce the arrival of Dunder Mifflin Infinity 2.0. After a fruitful inaugural year, we spent the summer evaluating the successes (of which there were many!) and failures of DMI (1.0). With last year's complications (issues regarding credit card encryption, sexual predators, and fraud) now firmly behind us, we're finally ready to move forward.
We concluded that branch productivity suffered from over-saturating the market with too many Dunder Mifflin locations. In retrospect, our rapid expansion was a bit presumptuous. Consequently, we're closing 100 of our 200 branches and eliminating our overseas offices. The employees affected by these closures are still highly valued commodities and will be invited to transfer to one of our remaining branches. We believe that by consolidating our employee workforce, we'll gain a competitive advantage, which will help us meet the economic challenges we now face.
Additionally, corporate is going to take a step back this year; branch managers will be granted more control and responsibility within their individual branches. Having done such an excellent job last year, we're giving branch managers the opportunity to effectively moderate their employees and ensuring them equal hiring abilities. With this added control, comes added liability. As a result, two-thirds of our original managerial force will be replaced; the application period for new Regional Managers will begin September 4th. So if you believe you have what it takes to accept the challenges and responsibility of becoming middle management, then we urge you to apply.

Had no idea Dunder was supposed to be that big

yeah, 200 offices and an overseas office took me by surprise. I thought they were a regional company in the Northeast with maybe a dozen or so branches.
