I've always liked Will. We'll see if his performances carry him further or not.

I liked this song better than her earlier song. She's amazing, but just don't like when she screams at me all the time

And Christina's boobs are out of control.

ETA. I guess we're the only ones watching tonight Hog.

James should go home IMO.

Song choices tonight were boring.

So they must be doing two songs each tonight?

I'm only up to James.

I am playing catchup now. I am on Will's second performance. notes so far:

1. Will is good but song choice is a major issue for him.

2. Tess should go home. The way she pronounces words while singing makes her sound like she should be singing in another language to me. Not a fan of her's at all.

3. The 16 year old girl is good but Christina gives her bad songs to sing but I'm not sure she has the flexibility to sing other stuff.

4. I really like Cole, he is my favorite on the show and has been awhile. I liked both of his songs tonight but I am probably biased.

5. James' first song wasn't good, not sure what his next is.

6. Mathew has fallen from my pick to win to just above Tess for me. Christina is trying to get him to show some range in song choice and it is exposing him. I said it last week, I just don't see him selling albums when the show ends because i think he ends up singing gospel or something.

Cole and Jacquie were tops tonight. They nailed both of their songs.

Will and James went 1/2 on their songs.

After tonight, Matthew or Tessanne can say goodbye. (Only one goes home.)

Still watching. Tessanne needs to go this week. Love Cole. Jacquie has pipes. Too much screaming on the first song and still the choices are too old for her. Extremely talented though.

Not sure who else I'd like to see go. I like Matthew. Also like James though his first song wasn't as good as it could have been. Haven't seen his or Will's second song.

Xtina made sure to find something negative to say about Cole's second performance. I liked the raspy voice. She took to the stage with Jacquie. Sheesh.

ETA: didn't care for Will so much though his Etta James last week was phenomenal.

Are they sending two home again this week or just one?

I'm assuming two. Don't really know yet.

At first, I thought Jacquie was going to slay the Xtina song, but I felt like she lost her pretty tone with all the yelling. Didn't enjoy it. Xtina making it all about her of course.

Christina is trying to ruin this show. It's not about you, bitch.

My Rankings:

Cole
Will
Jacquie
James
Matthew
A bunch that have been cut already

As the conductor of the COLEtrain, I'm pretty happy how this is playing out. Early on I thought Matthew and Tessanne were perhaps the 2 strongest, but I guess I got a bad read on Tessanne. She very well could go home tonight.

Matthew blew his load singing Hallelujah, and hasn't come close to matching that performance since. He was trying to do way too many runs last night that just were not working for me. I agree that Christina is exposing his weaknesses by trying to show more range.

At this point, I think Jacquie is the biggest threat to Cole. I think with her, the only problem is that sometimes she over-sings (a la her coach).

The biggest surprise for me has been Will. It seems he has gotten better throughout the show. I didn't expect him to make it this far.

Really pleased with how this is shaping up for Cole though.

Agree that Matthew's ride on Hallelujah may be coming to an end.I like the kid, though. Xtina is ruining him. Will did improve and I think At Last was his high point and now he doesn't look as good. Jacquie is definitely oversinging and doing more screaming and yelling than needs to be done. I think Xtina wants to show her power, but she's pushed her too far. She's not going home, but geez, the girl is really good, but Xtina is pushing power only or so it seems.

I think Cole's Hall and Oats was very good, but there were no wow moments and I didn't find it to be a standout performance. Worried me. I think Xtina believes Cole is the one for Jacquie to beat and that's why she made the comment on his raspiness.

This thought actually crossed my mind at the time, but I figured I was just being an overly paranoid Cole fanboy

Nah, Jacquie continued the scream-a-thon last night. The lyrical content of Cry Baby and the gut bucket rasp Janis brought to the song is so out in front of what Jacquie is capable of at this time her performance came across as fake and contrived yelling, then Xtina has to march on stage and point out things in the "performance" that were obviously contrived before hand, yeesh. Could not stand it and her Xtina song was more of the same.

I thought James was best of the night. If Blake had given Cole a legit song instead of Rich Girl I would have him first as he killed the second song. Still like Will, he was not at his best, but still good enough for top 3, then Matthew, J, and T. Matthew seems a little lost although better than last week, all the contestants would benefit from a better audio vocal/musical mix as the band and background singers continue to overpower the leads. The wheels have come off the enjoyment train for me the last 3-weeks as there is no real critical commentary from the coaches when there should be, everybody just gets a pass in the 2-hour coddling session.

Xtina seems to be the only coach criticizing and she does it when it's not relevant but again, I think that's too keep her folks at the top. I noticed when talking with Matthew she mentioned "if you're here next week". I think she's cutting her losses to focus on Jacquie.

I still think she and Cole in the top 3 with James & Will vying for the 3rd spot.

She may be based on whomever votes, but she is not in my top 3. She is very raw, with likely the most upside for a career with mass appeal, but after the last 4-weeks she is a 16 year old with a huge voice she can't control nor provide any nuanced vocals within context of a song. It is what it is to me, and therefore not in my top 3.

I would liken her singing "Cry Baby" with very limited life experiences, if any, tied to the lyrics as similar to having a 16 year old boy up there singing lyrics from Jamey Johnson's "High Cost of Living". I can just see/hear it:

"I had a job and a piece of land,
My sweet wife was my best friend,
But I traded that for cocaine and a whore"

Yeah, sure you did, make believe 16-yr old.

Does not compute for me from a believability reference, and, no, I really don't take it that literally. People who are more mature and more aligned with older song standards have to try and compartmentalize some of the song choices, especially when they are short of the mark in so many ways and the coach says Jacquie did a hell of a job anyway. Don't take it literally, just tired of the shrieking and lack of nuanced singing from her when she should be capable of much, much better and her coach isn't helping in that regard.
