I found the first couple of episodes contrived and silly. Read some stuff about the show on here, went back and pushed through. Actually bought season 4 when I wasn't on netflix. Now easily one of my favorite shows.

I actually started Breaking Bad in the second season and got hooked from there....I have since gone back and watched the first season. I enjoyed the first season, but the first few episodes are a little slow (maybe a little more family drama ish?). They were still good, but not a fair representation of how the rest of the show is. It gets better, and more suspenseful, and more interesting for sure.

Get through the first season, and you will be hooked...and then buckle up for the next 3/4 seasons. great stuff

It actually took me a about 3 or 4 episodes to get into it. I watched the first one and I guess because it was so wild, I didn't watch it again for a week or two, but I was enthused and thought about it several times.

So, I kind of understand where he's coming from, but if he watches one or two more, I'm sure he'd be hooked.

Unless, of course, the person may not have the intelligence level to keep up or understand what is going on.

I'm another heathen that has had trouble getting past the first 2 episodes. It just was so slowly paced. I didn't hate it, it just didn't hook me. I'll probably try it again eventually.

favorite scene of the entire show was when Walt goes to meet Tuco for the first time. Episode 6 of the first season.

This is it. Right here. If you can make it through this point of the show and still don't like it, then it's just not for you (and it only gets better from this point on). But no one should give up on it until this point.

Coming from a guy who watches nothing but comedies and BB, BB is probably my favorite show.

Yep. This is what I did. I watched the first season and thought it sucked. It took me a year until i watched S2, which I also didn't really enjoy. But after that, it gets good

It highly advise against this. This is what I did, and now I feel like I wasted hours and hours of my life. If you dont like it now, you will not like it later.

So dissolving a body in acid in a bathtub and having the body-acid-goo eat through and fall through the ceiling isn't interesting?

it seems to be taboo to speak ill of breaking bad on this board. in reality breaking bad is not that great. i am currently almost done with season 3 and while season 3 is easily the best so far 1 and 2 were merely meh. even after 3 seasons i am still not in love with any of these characters. usually when you are really into a show you make connections with certain characters and have favorites, this is not the case for me with breaking bad. none of the characters are extremely likable and most of them are just flat out annoying. i will finish the series because i am a tv show junkie but i dont think it deserves the fapping it gets on here.

I agree. I root for the worst possible things to happen to all the characters.

Other than Saul. He's the man.

Only show I have ever seen where each season is progressively better.

I recently finished season one, really good. Maybe it's just bc I just finished the Wire and it's so realistic; but a lot of the characters in Breaking Bad seem overdone IMO (Tuco, Skyler, Hank, even Walt a little)
Still a great show though
