re: MTV THE CHALLENGE Season 40 Cast Revealed

Of all the girls, Michelle is definitely the “one of these things is not like the other” and sticks out like a sore thumb.

It was interesting to see Kyland using the strategy of staying ahead of Jordan (who’s known for endurance) to boost his confidence…while Jordan was simply staying “in Kyland’s back pocket” to see what he’s got in the tank. Shows Jordan’s experience advantage over Kyland.

Jordan wins yet again. The guys didn’t even really try to get him out of the house, and now here we are and he’s won the last two solo challenges before the final. I hope he wins it all again.

Seems like the elimination of literally just treading water is sort of dumb. And also a bit unfair to whoever wins if TJ is starting the final almost immediately.

Tori’s got the right idea with the floating too, saving tons of energy.

Rachel coming from the brink of Era 1 being eradicated to making the final is one of the more impressive things ever on the show.

I really wish they would show the entire final next week instead of breaking it up into two episodes, especially with 90-minute episodes. But I assume they will since that's what they usually do now.

Yet another reminder that I completely hate this karma vote and I don't even know how it's gonna affect things yet. But it's gonna suck if someone legit wins the final but then gets screwed out of money because of some popularity contest.

Don't sleep on Jenny in the final.

I’ll always ride with Jordan in a final (and just as a season pick on general). But it would be awesome if Rachel could pull off a win. It could be a catalyst to get some of the other OG players back onto the show. I know a lot of them are past it now, but there’s still some id love to see come back (Landon, Alton, Evelyn, etc).

Did TJ really say “the next few days” when talking about the final? I admittedly haven’t seen any of the seasons after 30 so the longest finals I have watched have been 1.5 days or so. Have there been any that have gone 2 nights or more

They released the cast for next season. I don't even remember some of these people, but looks good.

Ashley K is aging well

They really took the best cast ever and came up with the absolute worst format/twists for a season.

The karma points are so bad. Maybe if they actually used the votes how they were intended but everybody is basically using them to punish previous winners. And why the hell would you want to introduce something that makes the cast play nicer? That makes for terrible TV. “Oh I can’t blindside so and so what if there’s a karma vote this season?” fricking stupid.

I didn’t want Kyland to win but I didn’t think anyone’s ever been screwed harder in a final.

Seems like its been on for a year. Jordan & Jenny smoking everyone else. Karma gonna bite BananaMan

I love the breakdown of the money. 400 large to first place. Then 75 and 25, and then nothing. Love it.

I cannot wait to sss how much I hate this stupid fricking karma vote. Like if Jordan kicks everyone’s arse but then doesn’t win because of some stupid bullshite I’m gonna be pissed.

These clips of the karma vote make me remember just how many people were on this season. And how long it’s been going on.

Those have to be the longest three minutes of Derek’s life.

Kyland, Jordan can’t “arguably have the best winning percentage in finals.” It’s math. He either has it or he doesn’t.

This final is too heavily slanted toward swimming IMO, but to come into the Challenge lacking swimming skills is completely stupid (looking at you, Kyland). And it’s incredible how much better of a swimmer Jordan is than everyone else.

I do like Jenny, but I don’t think I could stand to be in the same room with her for more than a few minutes.

This final is awesome though. With the home base of the boat and going to and from checkpoints and whatnot. And this has to be the most open water swimming they’ve ever done. That’s tough to swim in.

Jordan beasting this thing and killing everyone. Of course he is. He’s one of my favorite cast members of all time.

I love a good overnight mental torture challenge. Although this one seems easy. Maybe it’s the editing but it seems like they are counting them about as inefficiently as possible. Throw down a handful and count them with your fingers. It looked like some of them are counting them singularly as they put them into the chest.

What’s funny is I don’t think any single one of these people have ever seen Jaws.

Oh Jenny won’t shut the frick up. I’m shocked.

Based on the preview for next week I assume Jordan is so far ahead that the karma vote doesn’t matter. I sure hope that’s the case.
