Nothing But Trouble
Chevy Chase, Demi Moore, Dan Ackroyd, John Candy, and Tupac Shakur all get caught up in New Jersey coal field shenanigans that involve a moat of piss and poop, a draw bridge, and metal sculptures surrounding an old court house where all traffic violators are put to death on a rollercoaster called Mr. Bonestripper. The judge of the court is a man that recalls fighting in WWI, who has a fake leg, a fake nose shaped like a penis, and no upper lip. Essentially he's a walking skeleton who is easily over 100 years old.
He allows a bunch of West Coast pot smoking thugs go free if they play the music for the judge's suddenly arranged marriage between his mute granddaughter, Eldona, and Chevy Chase's character who happens to be a New York banker that the judge absolutely hates.
And Eldona has two brothers or sons who are essentially giant adult babies...literally babies...who are incredibly fat, have no hair, and they wear diapers that have never been changed while at the same time being master mechanics who run the chop shop that is located within the premises of the courthouse. Giant babies named Bobo and lil'Debill (Devil).
Not to mention that at dinner the judge descends out of the ceiling to 1930s music and activates a train set that pops up out of the table and circles the table to old country music while at the same time delivering pickles, mustard, ketchup, and ants-on-a-log to the guests seated at the table.
And finally, the entire New Jersey highway patrol is aware that this judge has been killing all traffic violators for nearly an entire century and they are all in on it! At the moment that Chevy Chase and Demi Moore are about to be killed by the judge and the entire Jersey highway patrol, the raging coal fire in the caverns below the courthouse causes the ground to become unstable and the entire courthouse and some of the New Jersey highway patrol is swallowed into the fiery abyss.
Chevy Chase and Demi Moore somehow escape. Meanwhile, their rich friends who were with them during the original arrest find their way back to Brazil with the aide of their new head of security, John Candy, the original officer who arrested them for failing to make a full stop at a stop sign that nearly led to their death sentence.
Then, while Chevy Chase is watching the nightly news which is covering the coal mine fire in the coal fields, the reporter interviews an old man and wouldn't you guess who it is? The judge! And the lunatic judge tells the reporter that he's planning to visit his son inlaw and holds up Chevy Chase's drivers license which lists his home address.
Chevy Chase freaks out and literally runs thru a wall like bugs bunny leaving a perfect cartoonish cutout of his body and you hear him yell "No you won't," while looney toons music plays.
Roll credits.

I'd say
Groundhog day
Ghostbusters
And beetlejuice too.

The Big Lebowski. so many people didn't like it upon first viewing, and I think that has to do with the fact that they were expecting some kind of interesting narrative.

Austin Powers: the first one
I think I was one of a handful that went to see it in theaters.

A Bond parody that just completely deconstructs the genre? Don't think that's all that bad of an idea.
As for a bad idea that turned out good: The Brave Little Toaster.

The Social Network - I despise Facebook and have ZERO use for it and get annoyed any time the word is even mentioned, but I loved that movie. I was absolutely stunned by the fact that I enjoyed it. I remember thinking "I can't stand Facebook so why the frick should I care about how it became what it is?" Then I watched it on a rainy afternoon on HBO and said "damn...that was really freaking good".
Oh and that Trent Reznor soundtrack

Moneyball. I enjoyed the book, but when I heard it was going to become a movie, I thought it would suck badly.
Outside of a few inaccurate things, it turned out to be a great movie and one of my favorite Brad Pitt performances.

Forrest Gump, for sure.
A movie about a retard who plays college football, ping pong and is a war hero who starts an international shrimping business? Come the f*ck on

first four seasons of Dexter
A serial killing sociopath with a honor code based on morality is an interesting premise but seems inherently too contradictory to be plausible. The hallmark of sociopaths is an inability to recognize the morality that guides Dexter's code

Not much of a movie watcher, or at least rememoror, but Groundhog Day fits the bill.
