Bluey was the soundtrack of my life when my son was smaller.

Harry Potter was my answer. Could always count on ABC Family/Freeform celebrating any random holiday weekend with a Harry Potter marathon.

E Network and its sister channels do a pretty fair job with having Potterthons these days.

Hobbit/LotR extended cuts. Over 24 hours of pure joy playing in the background while I'm farting around the homestead.

Frasier

Those are my go to background noise shows. Or to put on when I have family over. No debating over what to watch, easy to randomly start and stop watching.

I’ve seen them all enough to know where the episode is in the series run or if a good episode is about to come on.

I’ve stopped mid conversation and made people turn and watch just because I knew “Reverend Jim gets a drivers license” was about to happen.

I had the original Star Wars trilogy recorded on one VHS at SLP speed. If I was working around the house I'd put that sucker on and let it go.

Now, in the streaming age, I can put on the original Star Trek and let it run.

My go-to nap film is Patton. Not sure why, but even with the battle scenes it's easy to rest through.

Daytime: Star Trek The Next Generation. Being episodic helps if you can't pay full attention. The next episode is a completely different story.

Nighttime: Deadwood. If I'm having trouble falling asleep I put this on. The darkness of the night scenes and the quiet monologues put me down gently.

Right now it is NCIS for me. Well. Up till when Mark Harmon steps down. It isn't the same without Gibbs voice in the background while I'm doing something.

This is a good one as background.

OG Law & Order are pretty good as far as TV shows go.

I tend not to white noise movies. I lock into movies because I enjoy well written dialogue.
