I am not quite sure if it applies to this thread, but I feel like it does...

Anybody remember the film Gangster Squad that came out a few years ago?

You had Gosling, Emma Stone, Sean Penn, and Josh Brolin in what could have been a very stylish and smart drama in a classic film noir style or ala LA Confidential, but it came out as a cartoonish mess.

I didn't think it was terrible. I don't think Troy was terrible either.

So far I think I've agreed with everything posted here.

I'll add John Carter and Tarzan to the list. I'm a huge E.R.B. fan and with the advances in CGI I thought that surely we'd finally see these two characters and their worlds done right.

Nope.

While maybe not "terrible"...I can't tell you how much I anticipated the release of Dune when I was a kid. I was exteremly disappointed.

Two great representations of ERB's characters. Loved them both.

I didn't think John Carter was terrible at all. I think it came at the wrong time.

It would probably do better now.

I thought it was pretty good.

The marketing for it was absolutely awful though. I mean they really shite the bed with pushing that movie.

Yes to SW prequels and many others mentioned.

Since I'm a old fart, I'm going way back with:

Original Neighbors: Akyroyd Belushi should be hilarious. Not one funny moment in the whole damn thing.

1941- Spielberg, comedy, great cast, idea SOUNDS funny. Shoulda been a disaster flick cause it was a disaster.
