Sam Rockwell in both The Green Mile and Three Billboards

I thought about him... but in both of those movies all the performances shine, so I don't know that Sam Rockwell outshines the rest. And that's no knock on him, he was terrific, just a compliment to the rest of the casts as well.

A lot of movie stars demand top billing so I've always thought of lesser billed being 2nd or 3rd lead, but I get the point

Primal Fear comes to mind.

No one knew who Edward Norton was before then. Quite a few people did afterward.

12 Monkeys also does. Bruce Willis may have been the star but it was Brad Pitt’s movie.

Meh. There are at least 5 or 6 other characters I think of in True Romance before Pitt. Hell, maybe 7 or 8.

I can definitely agree with this. His scene was hilarious.

It'd be considered murder in the second degree, or manslaughter.

If I ordered for your fellow soldiers to force feed you peanuts without knowing about your peanut allergy, would I be free of wrongdoing? I think a person's opinion of liability plays a part in their perception of guilt vs innocence.

Here's another one: Lee Ermey in Full Metal Jacket.

FMJ minus Ermey's scenes is somewhat lame imo.

Tom Hardy in The Revenant (Leo wasn't bad, I just thought Hardy was better)

Brad Pitt in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood (Again, Leo wasn't bad, Pitt was just better imo)

I thought Jeremy Renner in American Hustle was better than Bale/Cooper

I guess Ledger in TDK still qualifies as "lesser billed" even though it was a huge deal when he was cast as Joker. He was all over the marketing and stuff.

Rodney wasn't anywhere on the level of Chase and Murray when Caddyshack was made.

Alec Baldwin in Glengarry Glen Ross.

His role is extended cameo and is the only thing in the movie that people still talk about.

The last king of Scotland.

The story was about the Scottish doctor (mcavoy), but Forrest Whitaker completely nails his role.

Night Shift was supposed to be Henry Winklers big breakout after Happy Days. Keaton goes on to be a yuge star off this role.
