Also when Forrest meets his son for the first time and he is so overcome with joy and worry at the same time. And he asks Jenny if he's smart or like him.
Seriously one of the best acted scenes in history IMO

Ever since having kids, especially my daughter (because that whole father-daughter magic), that kind of stuff will elicit a very humid eye.
Also, weirdly, although I have no male sibling, something about that ending scene in Warrior make me a bit teary eyed. I guess the vulnerability from such strong men via the mutual childhood miseries?

Lonesome Dove
"By God, Woodrow. It's been one hell of a party."
I weep like a child everytime.

The Candidate
When Marty Huggins ask his family at the dinner table if there's anything they should come clean about.

The end of Planes Trains and Automobiles when John Candy becomes part of the family.
When Aragorn sees the hobbits and stops them from bowing to him...'You bow to no one' and then everyone bows to them.
If you dont cry at the first scene in UP, you have no soul. and when Doug the dog is on the porch..."I was hiding under the porch because I love you"
The Time Travelers Wife...death scene

Several scenes from "Lorenzo's Oil" will push you to tearing up, especially if you have a child/children...

My Dad died two years ago at the age of 50.
It's been mentioned, but you want to see a grown man cry, Green Mile Coffey me. I've seen that movie probably 20+ times and I weep like a schoolgirl and want to punch the frick out of someone.

Final scene of 12 years a slave when Solomon breaks down and apologizes to his family for his appearance after everything he went through.
The whole movie is pretty heavy and for it to end with him basically apologizing for being kidnapped into slavery is heartbreaking.

The Champ
Sophies Choice
Surprised no one else mentioned either of these. They hurt worse after I had kids but even before that these scenes always got me.

I tend to get more emotional in movies than anything else in my life. Don't know why.
Lonesome Dove is what I came to post though. When I read it I almost couldn't see the words

man y'all are some young'uns our school took us to see this in 3rd grade and the entire damn theater was bawling by the end
I still have my copy of Where the Red Fern Grows from reading it in school in the fifth grade. I keep it in my truck and read it probably once a year sitting in the deer stand. Old Dan and Little Ann get me teary every time

If your dad has passed, and he was involved in your sporting endeavors, the last scene is a killer. I bawl like a baby every...single...time
I took a girl to see it on our first date. Her dad died a couple of years earlier. I had no idea what I was getting into. She shed a lot of snot that night.

Forrest at Jenny's grave makes me cry every time i watch it.
Nothing makes my cry in Forrest Gump like him narrating when Bubba dies. "Then Bubba said something I'll never forget". "I want to go home." "Bubba was my best good friend, and even I know that isn't something you can find just around the corner. Bubba was going to be a shrimping boat captain...but instead, he died right there by that river in Vietnam. That's all I've got to say about that".

The reunion scene on the beach at the end of Shawshank Redemption
When Rudy finally gets accepted to Notre Dame
When Tom Hanks loses Wilson in Cast Away
The Rookie when Jim Morris tells his son he's getting called up and then at the end when the whole town surprises him by being at his first game.
TV moments:
Good Times when Florida finally breaks down after James' death (damn Damn DAMN! scene)
Fresh Prince "how come he don't want me?" scene

Has no one mentioned grave of the fireflies yet?
That's a movie I actually own but can't bring myself to watch it again because I can't get through it without crying.
frick why did I look this up?
