I went on a school trip to New York when I was in middle school. We hit all the highlights, the WTC, Broadway.

The kid sitting in front of me fell asleep about five minutes into the show.

He somehow managed to wake up in the middle of the heroines big solo, where the villain sneaks up behind her with a dagger.

The kid lurched out of his seat and shouted

“He’s got a knife!”

Watching Breakin 2 in Opelousas as a kid. After the movie, a bunch of the “local” kids started break dancing in front of the screen during the credits.

5 years old at the old Alexandria drive in watching Star Wars. We were a little late because I remember a long line of cars to get in. We parked and I remember freaking out because where was the sound. Dad saying hold on while he grabbed the speaker and placed it on the window. From there I was completely mesmerized.

Recently the ending of Endgame. It was so quiet you could hear a pin drop, so you could hear people starting to cry. Guy next to me was a wreak.

Waiting in line with my mom in '89 to go see Batman. I was 7 and I don't remember being that hyped for a movie before or after; I thought that Batman logo on a black t-shirt I saw people wearing was one of the coolest things I had seen

Sitting outside the entrance to the theater to go see (don't remember which movie). What sticks out though is the entrance next to us was playing 2 Fast 2 Furious.

The overhead though read "2 Fast 2 F"

We all had an absolute blast with this, and reference it to this day.

Mid 80's, my mom took me and a buddy to watch the animated Transformers movie. Optimus Prime's death still hurts.

Midnight showing of The Dark Knight. Every single screen in the theater was showing it and they were all packed.

And it took an hour to get out of the parking lot at AMC-O'Neal.

As a child, Planet of the Apes blew my mind.

As a comic book fan, seeing Superman: The Movie was a very emotional experience.

Midnight showing of TDK was the biggest event like that I’ve ever been to and it was incredible. There will never be anything like it in the future either because of early Thursday releases and assigned seats

For those who went to both, which was bigger the midnight showing of TDK or the midnight showing of Phantom Menace when Star Wars came back after 20 years? I went to the midnight showing of Star Wars but not TDK

When I was 14, my brother had dropped me off at the one little single-screen theater in our home town. It was a Saturday night, I'd already seen the movie they were showing the night before, so I was out in the empty lot next to the theater smoking with some guys. My parents pulled up in front and my dad went inside. A friend saw them and came and told me they were there. I went in, all worried about smelling like cigarettes, and found my dad.

They were there to tell me my brother had been in a wreck, had a head injury, and was being flown to Jackson because the local hospital didn't do brain surgery. Never spoke to my brother again as he died on the way to Jackson.

Wish you'd asked for the funniest thing that had happened at a theater so I could tell about leaving a girl with her pants, and panties around her ankles with her rabbit coat over her, a couple of weeks before then. Or when I was on a double date at the drive-in, and I had to ask my friend if he had Kleenex in his car.

It’s The Dark Knight. Went to opening night with two of my buddies and the girl I’d end up marrying years later the Summer before we all went off to college. Kissed her for the first time that night after the movie.

Very close second is the first Avengers movie, saw the premiere with my dad and brother with whom I share a love for comics and sci fi. Saw it the night before I graduated college and I’ll never forget the feeling of joy in that theatre and the look of pride on my dads face getting to see his childhood heroes come to life with his two boys who were all grown up but glued to those theatre seats like we were 5 years old again.

Movies at their best are fricking magic.

Most memorable and best movie scene I’ve personally watched was Jurassic Park, when the tour breaks down by the T rex cage. I was 12. Amazing to watch that in the theater.

Second place would be Saving private Ryan, during the Normandy beach storm.

Those are the two greatest things I’ve ever watched on the big screen.

Not 100% sure, but...

1. As a kid, seeing Remo Williams because my dad was a huge fan - but the theater being so damned empty freaked kid me out.

2. Event Horizon - this movie was MADE for a dark, surround-sound environment.

3. Saw The Fellowship of the Ring on opening night. I pretty much avoided opening nights like the plague, but glad I saw that one like that.

I remember about 2-3 minutes after that scene ended was when I remembered I was just sitting in a theater. I've never been as engrossed in anything. I didn't move a muscle during the scene.

At the end of the movie, I saw a veteran who was obviously incredibly affected by it. That was probably the most real world emotion I've felt at the movies. I can only imagine what it must have felt like for him.

Hangover in college - I've never been in a theater when people were just howling in laughter consistently throughout a movie. Everyone being drunk probably helped.

Inception - I guess just because I had no concept of what it was about, it was one of the most enjoyable theater experiences I've ever had. Immediately when it was over I was sort of sad that I couldn't watch it again for the first time.
