The overdose scene in Pulp Fiction was pretty funny if I have to be honest.. Vincent just driving into dude's yard, I think into his house in the middle of the night with her dead body and Stolz freaking the frick out with his strung out girlfriend.

A recent movie that I felt was super intense, Hotel Mumbai. I watched it on a flight, then went back and watched it again with my wife.

Unless I was under a rock, I never really knew the story nor did I hear much about the movie. I thought it was damn good.

and the tsunami hitting sequence in THE IMPOSSIBLE

Almost included that in my OP. That entire sequence was so well done/filmed.

Yeah, it's truly great - especially for 1987. The action is realistic, it's tense the whole time - and the twist(s)!

100%. I did a project in college and showed this scene to a class full of people who hadn't even heard of The Deer Hunter or Michael Cimino's films. I had to preface it with "the rest of the movie isn't like this" so they all didn't try and watch this action packed tense movie...that doesn't have much action or tension...except for this one scene.

Uncut Gems, all of it. I was hungover when watching it but felt like that movie was going to give me a panic attack.

I'll take Midnight Express when they hung the guy up by his ankles and beaten with a belt and also the scene in the same movie where the guys bites out the other guy's tongue.

Can't give names because once was enough for that movie, when I was 16.

I am about to be 34 and JUST watched No Country for Old Men last week. The gas station coin flip and it's no contest.

Yep, I always laugh.

"Crank caller! Crank caller!" Vincent crashes into porch. Then he drops the "fricked up pupa" in the yard while they scream at each other.

Funny as hell.

Scenes: Deer Hunter is a good answer.

Another one that came to mind is Saving Private Ryan, not the opening scene but when the Mellish fights the German hand to hand and gets stabbed slowly in chest while Upham is scared/frozen just outside the door.

In terms of intense movie, Blackhawk Down is very intense from close to start to finish.

The Pacific, I think in episode 2. There is a gunfight scene on the beach that lasts several minutes and I remember my wife looking at me saying "holy shite" and that knocked me out of my trance and then I realized that I was sweating from watching that scene! I'm not sure how long it lasted but felt like 15 or so minutes of straight intensity, soldiers shitting out lead about 10-15' away from the enemy, I believe that was the same episode where the guy barehanded the barrel of the gun to keep it on because it was so hot from rapid fire that it was turning red and starting melt and bend.

Battle of the Tenaru

My grandfather was there (I can't be the only one) and it was insane.
