It cannot be overrated. It is the only one of its kind. Sure, it's use may be really really nasty, but it cannot be overrated because there is nothing to compare it to.

Of course it can be over rated still. It doesn’t need something to compare it to to be overrated.

Being over rated is simply do people give it more credit than it deserves. Which is EXACTLY what you are doing with TWD.

Peter Dinklage is one of the best actors out there. First thing I ever saw him in was Nip/Tuck and he was great in that too.

It's "the road" but with walking corpses. Man, I had high hopes for it after season 1. Growing up I was always a fan of romeros first 3 films and even the 1990 remake. My arms are covered in the black and gray ink of reanimated corpses.. I wish it was a better show, better delivery and direction mainly. Their format bothers me and I feel it's more amc than the show. Doesn't need to be 16 episodes with at least 4 each season about a minor character no one cares for. I agree it's had a lot put into it, but it feels like a lot of wasted motion.

Because you are expecting not stop zombie attacks and that's just not realistically how a scenario like this would go down.

Look at it like this. The first season or two, the main threat was the zombies because the "outbreak" had just occurred. Dealing with zombies was a new thing for everyone. Nobody understood them or knew how to handle them. Those who were "unfit" to be able to deal with them were killed off by them. Those who could deal with them are the remaining survivors left. Dealing with zombies is no longer much of a threat to the remaining survivors. It's not like the zombies change tactics or adapt in any way (so far). They are more of an annoyance now than a threat. Sure, occasionally they overwhelm someone, but that is no longer the norm.

The real threat is other groups of people. By this point, most people have joined groups. Each group is trying to control a limited amount of resources and provide "safe areas" for their group.

Would you really believe that after years of fighting the same opponent that the survivors would still have difficulty dispatching them? That's not realistic.

Kit Harrington,Emilia Clarke, and Sophie Turner all hit the jackpot with these roles. All very young and this is the best it's ever gonna be for them.

The Walking Dead from day one has been about the people more than the zombies. The people are the walking dead, the zombie apocalypse is just the setting.

That said, TWD by a mile for me cause the show writing has just gotten terrible and boring over the years. The show lost me for good when Glenn fake died. GoT on the other hand continues to keel my interest with a compelling narrative that I know will eventually come to an end. Who is really gonna give a shite about TWD when season 20 hits and it's the same old story changed up a bit from the previous 10 seasons.

But hey, every entertainment product ever made has the opinion of being overrated by someone in the world.

GoT is just another tale with castles, kings, queens, and knights. But it is a good one. You can argue when it is over if it is/was overrated, but you cannot say the Walking Dead is overrated. That's like saying James Dean was overrated. Or Elvis, or the Beatles, or any new first thing was overrated.

You might not like it, but that doesn't mean it isn't special to the form.
Being an original concept doesn't protect something from being overrated. BTW, Planet of the Apes was post-apocalyptic (set after the downfall of mankind on Earth) and it was also a TV series for awhile. Logan's Run and Buck Rogers were set in the future, with parts of civilization in sheltered cities, and other parts of the Earth being ravaged... post-apocalyptic. TWD is just set in a more contemporary time, with a different apocalypse.

In that sense, I'd say you ARE overrating it, giving it undue credit simply because of the subject and theme.

I think both of them are very accurately rated.

Apples and oranges comparison.

After the debacle of a story line that was the governor, I dropped Walking Dead like a sack of rotten potatoes. It became too redundant before that story insulted my intelligence.

GoT is consistently good.

Oh wait you were serious?

I honestly wish there was a way for me to slap you for mentioning the walking dead and the Beatles in the same conversation.

If both shows ended tomorrow I dont think I'd really care about not seeing the ending for Walking Dead. However, I'd lose my mind if I didn't see how GOT wrapped up.

This is your answer. GoT will go down as one of the great TV events of this era. And TWD will go down as a guilty pleasure that got tiresome after a few seasons of recycled plot lines.

And that's where I think most people view those shows these days. And it's accurate.
