Thompson does here what Tommy Lee Jones did so well in the first "Men in Black"... By not overtly giving a rip about the demands or dictates of the franchise machinery clanking all around her, she lightens the load and keeps everything moving efficiently.

This sequel-slash-spinoff comes across as a lifeless piece of content, bearing a brand name and a glossy look but little else to remember it by.

Men in Black International is a particularly rough film to watch, genuinely unable to tell a good, even moderately entertaining story.

To think the original idea was to combine it with 21 Jump Street. What a waste.

Chris Hemsworth is basically box office money repellent. The guy should thank Taika Waititi for giving him his one and only good movie, and that’s also due in part to it being a cog in the Marvel machine.

There are elements of this movie that could have made it work (Hemsworth has great comedic chops and he and Tessa Thompson have great chemistry) but it just looks awful.

For the most part, I just assume any movie produced by SONY will suck unless proven otherwise. Their only saving-grace lately was INTO THE SPIDER-VERSE.

I liked that. The story was Ice Cube, Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum get recruited into the MiB.
Would have been good.

How would that even work? Forgive me, I didn't see 21 Jump, were aliens suggested to exist in this movie??

No but the entire point of MiB is the real world doesn’t know about the aliens.

Also watch 21 jump street, which may be the last really good main stream comedy that’s come out in this decade

True, guess I should’ve said last great comedy property in that time frame

Might be the best comedy sequel of all time (not great competition but still)

This movie may be poo but I don’t trust critic reviews at all. They love Disney movies and sjw crap. That’s it.

El Royale was an ensemble film in which he was like the 7th lead. So bad example

1 and 2 were good. 3 was a scatterbrained mess.

I just don't trust an opinion based on that display of taste. I see others in the thread saying that 3 was better than 2, but I just don't see it. 3 was just worthless, and I saw it in the theater.

I didn't really expect it to be great, but RT is pretty much worthless now. I'm not choosing movies based on their ratings anymore.
