I'm liking it so far.

But I hate seeing Tom Pelphrey playing an a-hole. I liked him so much so as Kurt Bunker on "Banshee".

Well, I am surprise their kung fu chero is so much fricking weak sauce. I mean it doesn't have those impact clashes when Collen and Rand was fighting.

I mean really is it so hard to hire some Hong Kong or chinese choreographer?

I think the series is not bad at all. Could use a tigheter narrative. Loras have the look but not the kung fu skill to make it happen.

Episode 3 and I'm liking it ok. Problem with all that I've watched so far is that they're a few episodes too long. They just put too much filler in there.

DD S1 had dumb night nurse plot
LC killed Cottonmouth and had to spend 3 episodes showing LC mortal and healing
DD S2 had to put Murdock running around doing dumb shite with stick and Electra.

Just cut the episodes down.

Just finished episode five and I think it's starting to find it's groove.

You can feel the threads of DD, JJ, and LC coming together to form the beginning of "The Defenders".

I'm guessing we aren't getting into details in this thread? Do we need a spoiler one to discuss the details?

I'm on episode four.

It's not amazing, but it's pretty solid.
And I'm definitely interested in continuing.

Iron Fist vs Cap in an elevator - he's good but I'm still taking Cap.

I got through episode 8 yesterday.

You'll absolutely love the fight scene in that one.

Im on 7. Why are the critics giving it so hate? I like it better than Luke cage and it got rave reviews. Only reason its not better than JJ for me is JJ had David Tennant who was must see for every second he was on screen as the purple man

Just finished episode 2 and they are really dragging this out. Could have easily condensed these two episodes into one.

Yeah, I've watched 5 episodes and I don't get it either, it's much better than Luke Cage. Not as good as JJ or either season of DD, but those are pretty great. IF has been very solid so far.

I agree, so far it is far far better than Luke Cage. It doesn't have a Kilgrave or a Fisk type villain so far, as its main weakness. I'm on episode 6.

Just finished episode 2 and I'm liking it so far. It's way better than Luke Cage. I actually think it's better than Jessica Jones so far too, which really wasn't that good outside of Tennant crushing it

I agree. Tennant is the best Marvel TV/movie villain so far but otherwise I didn't care much for JJ. The horrible side characters really dragged it down.

Someone does need to start a spoiler thread, but I think the complaint about Finn is right, he's not good at Martial Arts. Except when he uses the Iron Fist all of his fight scenes are boring.

I'm only through episode 7 but so far this basically is Arrow Season 1 except Arrow was better. Minor plot outline spoilers below

Billionaire heir comes back from the dead
Learned to fight while he was away
His company is involved in a larger evil plot
The Hand = League of Assassins

Colleen Wing is the only thing about Iron Fist that's better than Arrow.

I said the exact same thing about similarity to Arrow on another board.

I think where Iron fist is different from Arrow is , he's not business savy and is actually quite stupid. So he's not rich.

Spoiler alert, he joins a team call Hero for Hire for a reason.

Six episodes in and I've enjoyed it so far.

The first couple episodes are slow but it's all builds the story.

So it seems like the critics hate it but audience like it?

Rotten Tomatoes: Critics 17%
Audience 88%

That's a huge difference. Anyone remember such a huge discrepancy in numbers like this before for a movie or TV show?

I went back and read some of the reviews, and a lot of the hate is SJW BS. White male appropriating eastern culture, sexism, mansplaining, etc. Also a lot to do with the plot being similar to batman begins. It seems like the majority of them watched episode 1 and just stopped.
