I hope this is a changing of the guard. The woke bs has gone on for too long.

It is and it isn't. Folks are getting clipped who have big salaries and aren't producing. Period.

Iger 2.0 will treble, quadruple, quintuple down on "woke bs" because it is in his DNA. They are going to focus on "quality" versus "quantity" (which means fewer shows and they better focus group really well before going into production). That's the "changing of the guard" going on right now. Leaner, meaner, more profitable. They think wokeness hasn't hit the bottom line and they think most of their troubles are overproduction plus COVID. They're wrong.

She’s in VFX

She was one of the architects of the M-She-U and perhaps the most vocal opponents of Florida's parental rights bill from 2022 that essentially sunk former Disney CEO Bob Chapek. - Former president of visual effects and executive producer on the original Iron Man as well, who was key in driving Iron Man out as the focal point of the MCU. - Also maybe the most powering DIE pushers in the company. - Top Lucasfilm execs could be next - Everyone at Disney should be shitting bricks right now - Iger, who all the employees thought would keep the status quo, is having to answer to Nelson Peltz and other major shareholders who want heads to roll. quote: Victoria Alonso, a veteran executive producer at Marvel Studios, has stepped down, several sources have told The Hollywood Reporter. She has been with the Marvel Cinematic Universe before the first “Iron Man” movie even dropped, in which she served as a co-producer and helped kick things off for the studio, THR added. Her run lasted for 17 years, having started in 2006 as the chief of visual effects and postproduction. She also co-produced many other early films like “Iron Man 2,” “Thor” and “Captain America: The First Avenger” before the release of the mega-successful “The Avengers” in 2012, which elevated the concept of a successful shared universe for superhero films. According to Box Office Mojo, the film made over $1.5 billion at the box office worldwide. Since then she has served as an executive producer on many Marvel blockbusters and TV shows on Disney+.

It's like you don't even read or watch and just make shite up. Everything you said was flat out wrong but you know that.

Because they didn’t. She wasn’t fired, she left on her own.

She left on her own the same way Bonnie Ross left 343 and Halo

They're such a colossal frick up that the company tries to save face by providing some personal reason that we all know is bullshite

If she was fired because she was bad at her job and not her politics why'd it take so long to lose her job?

Marvel should get someone better in there.

They were pretty happy when she was hocking Microsoft surface tablets in commercials.

I’d imagine leaving a few billion on the table over a few years that easily could have been made is a hard thing to explain to the higher ups.

Yeah, she was definitely fired.

quote:

The Walt Disney Company is facing “serious consequences” and possible legal action over the pink slipping this week of Marvel VFX chief Victoria Alonso.

Making it clear to Bob Iger, Kevin Feige and everyone at the House of Mouse that she is not going quietly the Oscar nominated producer has retained the services of Patty Glaser. To that end, with competing POVs on what was going on BTS, the Glaser Weil Fink Howard Avchen & Shapiro LLP partner is putting Disney on notice.

In a statement released Friday for the now former President, Physical and Postproduction, VFX and Animation Production for Marvel Studios, the litigator, who is already taking Disney-owned LucasFilm to court for the canning of Star Wars TV series The Acolyte EP Karyn McCarthy, said:

"The idea that Victoria was fired over a handful of press interviews relating to a personal passion project about human rights and democracy that was nominated for an Oscar and which she got Disney’s blessing to work on is absolutely ridiculous. Victoria, a gay Latina who had the courage to criticize Disney, was silenced. Then she was terminated when she refused to do something she believed was reprehensible. Disney and Marvel made a really poor decision that will have serious consequences. There is a lot more to this story and Victoria will be telling it shortly—in one forum or another."

Disney isn’t taking that shot across the bow without a missive of their own.

“It’s unfortunate that Victoria is sharing a narrative that leaves out several key factors concerning her departure, including an indisputable breach of contract and a direct violation of company policy,” a Disney spokesperson told Deadline this evening. “We will continue to wish her the best for the future and thank her for her numerous contributions to the studio.”

Alonso still has her Possibility Is Your Superpower memoir coming out later this year on Disney imprint.

apparently fired because of the toxic environment she created. She worked in VFX meaning she had no input on story or any sort of writing. She apparently was so bad that some VFX companies refused to work with her. Sounds like she’s a shitty person and finally got the boot. But if the tards want to think it has anything to do with politics then sure let them I guess

I have no idea who this person is but if you have a politically motivated person making political statements to the press?

It would seem more likely than not her forceful opinions would result in workplace chaos as well as negative publicity.

And from Phase Four she began to have a lot of creative input with the MCU. This firing was a shot across the bow to Kevin Feige.
