I still believe it is John's wife. Billy would help her before John. Erin called her threatening to go public unless she gets money for DJ's ear surgery.

John and Lori's son killed Erin.

John is the baby's father. The son killed Erin because he was pissed that she was ruining his parent's marriage.

The son kills Erin and he calls his Uncle Billy to dispose the body.

Billy tells John what he son did. John tells his son that he knows what he did and that it will just be their secret (the bedroom scene that Lori saw and assumed it was about another affair).

When John and Billy's Dad tells John that he saw Billy covered in blood, John realized this was their out.

He convinces Billy to take the fall for his son and he tells Lori that they are going to pin everything on Billy after explaining what really happened. He also tells Lori that he is going to kill Billy at the cabin and make it look like a suicide. Lori goes along with the plan.

The only thing that I can't figure out is how Dylan fits into all of this...

Still can't come up with a plausible scenario there Guy Pearce is the mastermind behind all the killings. Brilliant red herring casting if he isn't the mastermind

Yeah. If he isn't involved somehow, his character is just a weird addition.

Him and Dylan are the 2 characters that I haven't figured out yet.

I think the writer is just a side plot to help develop Mare's character in the show. No way I see him being involved in the murder.

I actually thought of this but why would he wait til that night to do it? How did he know where she was? How did he get there? I don't think the kid is in high school yet.

If Dylan known that Erin fricked a relative, we would have found that out in episode 1.

Why would she throw Billy under the bus to Mare if he helped her out though?

I think its more likely John or the son.

Also, is John involved in the girls abduction? Remember the girl said the guy "had a beard".

The guy that Mare shot didn't really have one...

This is dead on dude.

The brother saying "you cant keep it in your pants"

and being that shaken by it means its far more than just him cheating on his wife.

What a fantastic show.

Salmon is right. It's the son. We saw him lose his temper in school. But what made him lose his temper on Erin? Was he trying to shoot Billy and hit her while they were together for some reason? Or maybe shoot his dad? I don't think he would have gone after her without a reason. She was too nice. But John or Billy is the dad for sure.

I'm also at a loss for how Dylan is involved and the journals. I think it's still possible he was part of this prostitution thing. Jess makes the profiles.

Just throwing something against the wall and seeing if it sticks huh LOL! Sometimes things are what they tell us. So what did they tell us this week.

1. They have revealed the Killer. Billy

2. DJ's father? still a mystery. John for my money

3. Dylan, Sean and Jess? More amd more likely Dylan trying to keep the truth about DJ's real father from coming out.

4. Kevin's death still still haunting Mare. Siobhan, and the rest of the family, finally understood Siobhan after this weeks episode.

That's what we know and that's pretty damn good! If they have the son be the Killer it would be just for the dramatic effect of a big twist and IMO not the ending we deserve.

Also if Winslet doesn't get an Emmy for the scene of her describing the day Kevin died, I don't know what would be worthy!

Got a kick out of psycho Sioban.

Not really gonna strain too hard to figure out the killer. It’s HBO. The killer could be anyone.

There are a couple of holes here that I'm not sure they intended.

When the deacon confesses, he should have told the cops that Erin got a text at a certain time. They should have been able to correlate that with someone else's phone.

Second, Mare would NOT have gone to the river alone knowing she was going to apprehend a murderer. Not to mention disobeying the Chief right after she gets back on the case and seems to be thinking more rationally.

Either one of those girls rescued would have talked about another guy if one existed.

Police guns in the 80's and earlier were Colt revolvers. Now days they are Glock's or Beretta's. Dylan's gun and John's gun were not revolvers.

They keep bring up Mare's father was a cop. How he would be proud of Mare. He could have had a Colt revolver. Siobhan could have found her Grandfather's gun. She has abandonment issues with her brother and her girlfriend who she called several times and texted many more. Erin was a slut who made the rounds. Erin could have been with Siobhan once then regreted it. Infuriating Siobhan who kills her with her Grandfathers service pistol.

That theory doesn't take into account Billy's confession. Billy could have found Erin in the park and thought that John killed her because Billy knew John had fathered the child. Moved the body to the creek which would have accounted for the blood on his clothes. John takes Billy out to their Father's fishing camp to kill Billy because he thinks Billy killed one of his side pieces.

Wild theory I came up with which is almost certainly not true. It's fun to speculate though. It also explains why Siobhan has so much screen time.

These are all good theories. I think it’s what makes the show so intriguing, just that when you think you’ve narrowed down who did what they always show another clue that opens up the storyline.

Have you watched all the series? Mare is pretty stupid and screwed in the head.

Yeah, I thought that was ridiculous that she was going to try and apprehend Billy by herself.
