Whenever I want to watch a pure sports inspirational movie, I'll watch Hoosiers.
It nailed this genre. The movie is just so fricking good.
70% of Rocky is a love story that only really kicks into gear as a sports movie the last 1/3 of the film.

Never understood the love for Major League. Funny comedy, but not even in the Top 5 baseball movies. Hurt dramatically by the fact that the lead looks as though he's never thrown a ball or picked up a bat before...
I LOVE Rocky...just love it. One of the best movies of the 70's for sure. But as a baseball player, nothing gets it right more than Bull Durham. The scenes with Crash are both great and heart breaking. watching him walk around town at night and picking up that tube out of the trash to watch his swing in the window...talking to himself in the batter's box...and explaining to Nuke at the bar when he finds he got called up the difference between a .250 and a .300 hitter are just gold.
