Damon is a very greek Name.

What’s more important… a name or an ethnicity?

Damon lands closer to Greek than Nyong’o. Not that there aren’t other ridiculous castings. But deflect from the worst with one less terrible. Or something.

Why don’t you read my entire reply instead of cherry picking one thing & pretending I didn’t address that point already?

This is tedious.

Why waste time saying “ethnicity”

Just say race.

Neither

Neither Damon's Brit-Norwegian nor Lupita's Kenyan-Mexican have any relation to ancient Greece.

Aside from the Indo-European Umbrella, there are almost no similarities. They even evolved from different populations

Q: ethnically how distinct is ancient Greece and Ancient Norway?

quote:

Ancient Greece and Ancient Norway were ethnically and genetically distinct, separated by thousands of miles and distinct evolutionary paths. They belonged to entirely different ancient populations with different early origins, though they shared a cultural and linguistic umbrella as Indo-European peoples.

The Genetic Divide

The primary populations that built these two ancient worlds differed in their deep genetic makeup.

Ancient Greece: Primarily descended from Early European Farmers (EEF) who migrated from Anatolia, mixed with native Aegean hunter-gatherers. They had a deep, historical connection to Mediterranean and Near Eastern populations, making their genetic profile distinct from Northern Europeans.

Ancient Norway: Predominantly descended from Western Hunter-Gatherers and a massive influx of Yamnaya pastoralist ancestry from the Pontic-Caspian steppe. Modern ethnic Norwegians carry the highest proportion of Yamnaya (Indo-European) genetic markers of any studied European group, which is distinctly higher than what is found in Greece

Iirc, The Norwegians descended from the Steppes. . .whereas the Greeks descended from the Meditteraneans out of Aegean farming peoples
