The only thing you will have deal with is the pure anthology format - no interconnection with the other stories - all are done with their own animation style (including at least 1 mixed live action/animated hybrid), directorial style and tone. Some are very light, others are very dark, most have a nice balance of both.

Anthology doesn't bother me, as I don't need the episodes to be connected to each other.

Only thing that may bug me is if I don't like the animation style of a particular episode. But if they are so short, it won't take long to get through them anyway, so it should be fine.

Season 1 is 18 episodes.

Longest is 17 min. 8 of them are 10 min or less.

It's all pretty well done, but some are more traditional western style, some traditional eastern style, some motion capture/video game style, some hybrid/modern styles, it is just variety.

The most jarring to me was the one with real people in it (Ice Age).

1. The "real people" are Topher Grace and Elizabeth Winstead - I get that I know some of the voice cast pretty well, but this is real people (and Topher Grace hasn't aged well as a star at this point)

2. The plot is a little worn out (very much like specific episodes of The Simpsons and Futurama)

None of the animation proved problematic with me, even though I prefer the traditional western style.

I’ve watched about four parts so far and yes, they still seem to be shuffling the order.

The Topher one has been the only one so far I just did not like even with Winsteads fine arse.

Really liked the Cats v Robots short. That animation was silky smooth and it had some good laughs.

The Rift was creepy. Some Halo and Deadspace mixed elements.

Starting one now. Not sure if it’s random, but it started me off with “Automated Customer Service.”

That’s the episode it started me with, I’ve watched 6 so far and that episode was my favorite so far with All Through the House being the second. Probably not a good idea to let any child that believes in Santa to watch All Through the House.

After finishing the last two episodes The Drowned Giant was IMO the best of the season.

The dialogue is poetic.

My top three:
1. The Drowned Giant
2. Pop Squad
3. Snow in the Desert

Loved Pop Squad… nothing else really blew me away in terms of story. The photorealistic animation was incredible in several episodes. The more artistic flavored ones were well-executed (Ice).

I need to go back and watch again but I would probably rank:

Pop Squad
Snow in the Desert
Automated Customer Service

That was easily one of the funnier ones I've watched so far. I loved how it just kept getting even more outrageous the farther into the episode we went. (I've only watched 3 so far, but Pop Squad is my favorite so far, then ACS, and then Ice, though ice was still pretty good)

To be fair, children shouldn’t be around any of LDR at all.

Only made it through 3 of them but customer service and pop squad were good. ACS was legit hilarious and had me side eying my Roomba all day.

kinda meh overall. i thought that some of the episodes could have been pretty cool if expanded on but i guess the whole point is to leave it up to interpretation on where it goes

Beyond the Aquila Rift was DARK. Holy shite. I watched a few of these the other day and forgot to comment. A lot of them were pretty cool stories with some of them being a huge WTF. Haven’t caught the new season yet.

Three Robots and Aquila Rift are the two I’ve watched so far. They were decent. I felt weird for thinking the cartoon chick in AR was hot though. But it was cool it ended up having a sort of Matrix type ending.

Three Robots was okay. Not great. Didn’t like the twist.

I’ve seen people complain about the order. I’m just watching them in whatever order NF has them offered. And if it’s an anthology series it shouldn’t matter, right?

Automated Customer Service is definitely the best so far of season 2.

Ice was kinda meh.

Pop Squad was dark as shite.

Snow in the Desert was interesting.

Tall Grass was a Stephen King riff and kind of by the books.

All Through the House was hilariously disturbing.

Life Hutch was basically Val Kilmers Red Planet in an escape pod. Weak creative wise.

Overall S2 was a disappointment. Too many cliches and lack of fun originality. Only one showstopper episode in ACS. I expected more from a shortened season.

i honestly don't know at this point.
