I enjoyed the ending based on there the last season or two has gone....just wish they went a different direction in previous seasons rather than where they ended up.

Well there are alot of unanswered questions.
but I am happy it is over.
What happened to Mike and Walt?
What about Whitmore?
The Dharma Initiative?
The couple that stole the diamonds.
Anna the cop.
I love how they showed the dog but his owners were missing.

plus hurley and ben really did run the island for a while.
aren't they supposed to be immortal?

this really sucks though... not the ending.. it was good, but now i gotta watch replays of people i really fell in love with.. i love these characters
replays will be good, but they will never fill that void.

Where are people getting this plane crash at the end.

Seems like a dick move to make purgatory/altverse be such an important part of the last season rather than resolve questions/storylines.
Rather than resolve actual shite lets just give the audience a twist.
yeah and the entire jacob-MIB aspect was completely wasted storylines, for the most part. thats like 1/3 of the show

They did resolve it though.

ben apologizing to locke about killing him is more proof that the alternate was a purgatory and that the island was all real.
Not really. Maybe there are multiple levels to purgatory.
Why then did they show the plane at the end?

All right guys, I'm going to start reading this thread from Page 13 since I didn't have a computer during the finale. But wow. What a finale. I'll take a quote from John Locke to describe my thoughts on it: "I looked into the eye of this Island, and what I saw was beautiful". That is the best way to describe it, beautiful. I think its obvious now that Purgatory was indeed their plan from the start, but they found a way around it and made it very poetic. And yes I very much believe the producers that their original idea for the final scene was Jack dying in the jungle with Vincent crawling next to him, and knowing that he secured rescue for his people.

I found it interesting Ben chose not to "move on". He basically chose to stay in purgatory to "figure some things out".
dude killed an entire community and countles others, pretty sure he knew he wasnt going to the happy place

giving credence to the "island is real" line, since they left, i can assume they're not part of the purgatory

This entire season i've felt like I knew what was going on. But, with the last 30 minutes I'm completely speechless & confused. Can anyone help me out?

Jack and Jacob both died, as did MIB. So why wouldn't Hurley and Ben die at some point?

werent they supposed to be immortal
yes, but so where jacob, richard, and MIB but they all died at some point.
there are ways to get by that... at some point ben and hurley got tired of running the show and found replacements.
Posted on 5/23/10 at 10:48 pm to The Eric
Sad to say it but I would have preferred it ended with Hurley staring into a snow globe in a metal institute.

i do find it odd that we didnt see walt or michael... were they in the church?
darkufo had footage of them on set.

The alternate timeline was a flash forward of after everyone died. It was a timeless place that was created so that they could all leave together (assuming they wanted to).
