I thought the same thing, but couldn't think of anyone that met that age whose parents we don't know. Charlie? He had a brother, so doubtful. Hurley? We know his parents. Boone? We know his step-sister and supposed mother, but this is a possibility.
ETA: I forgot about the Ethan theory, though he seemed a bit older than late 20's when the show started.

I like this idea, but he is kind of young.
Right now, Desmond fits the bill seeing that he fits the age requirement somewhat and we know little about his background.

Interesting trivia. Episode 316 was Episode 33 for Desmond. The same age Jesus was thought to be when he was crucified/resurrected.

We don't know Desmond's age, but the acor is 41. I think they'll have a hard time saying he is 30.
The only characters who we know are close to the age are Charlie (born in '79) and Hurley (born in '77).
The age of Karl is unknown, though we know he dated Alex who was born in '89. The actor who plays Karl is actually 27, so he could play a 30 year old.
The other person I've seen mentioned a lot on other sites is Ethan. We don't know the character's age, but the actor is 43. Like Desmond, a little old to pull it off.
Boone's character is thought to be born in '82, but the actor was actually born in '78. This puts him close to the right age.
Something I've not heard mentioned is that perhaps the baby is someone we don't even know yet, but that's not much fun.

Charlie has a brother... looks identical to him. We see him as a young kid in his parents house.
Hugo mom is def his mom, you can just tell. Although, I think she has ties to the island. She was pretty accepting when he told her about the island.
Desmond is the best choice as of right now. Age would fit, we dont know anything about his background, he speaks with an accent, but could be sent off the island soon, to be raised elsewhere.
