The issue is the creators said very early on that there wa an explanation and everything made sense and that’s clearly not correct.

ABC executives wanted the show to last 10+ years after the initial success. They destroyed the direction of the show many times. You can find this all online of the how and why.

This thread got me to watch the first 3 episodes just now. It definitely brings back some old emotions.

I remember being genuinely sad when it was over 14-15 year ago as this was the first big time storyline TV show that I watched from start to finish. The combination of drama/sci-fi/mystery/love/heartbreak. The list goes on.

I remember watching it one week and the next week you wasn't sure if there was going to be a new episode or a rerun.

I did like the production notes on the rerun episodes.

It meandered a bit, but "Through The Looking Glass" was the biggest mindfrick I've ever seen on television, and it was a gamechanger.

realized how many unasnwered questions there were. How many things that seem like big deals seemlingy are forgetten or don't impact the story.

Well...lay it on us (or I guess, on OML). What unanswered questions do you have?

Its been ages so I don't remember specifics but I remember there only being a very small amount of unanswered questions and they were completely irrelevant to the overall picture anyway that didn't really matter if they were answered or not. there were some things that simply don't require an answer and people just try to nitpick and find things to complain about.

On the top of my head, here were the only things that weren’t answered:

The Hurley Bird
Who was shooting at the survivors when time traveling (I’m guessing the plan was themselves but they just dropped it in the final season)?
Why did Radzinsky cut up the DHARMA Orientation Film?
Why did Lapidus tell Faraday to hang up the satellite phone if Minkowski picked it up?
Why is the wheel chamber so cold?
Who were the actual original inhabitants of the Island? Was it Jacob’s mother who did another purge many years before? Did she have the same powers as MIB?
What was special about Walt and why was he special?
What were MIB’s actual plans for Eko?
What was MIB’s actual name?
Who was “You look just like her” that Goodman’s wife referred to relation to Ben?

I’m sure there are more, but they answered more questions than people give them credit for, even if all the answers weren’t that satisfactory.

What's it about?

a plane crashes on an island and it follows the present and past of the survivors. one thing that LOST does/did about as any other show I've seen is get you HEAVILY invested in the characters and their history/story. "people stranded on deserted island" is a story that's been done a thousand different ways but LOST really hooks you into the character development. Each episode will have some stuff on the island but will then focus on on character and their life and story prior to the crash.

There are A LOT of episodes at 45 minutes a pop, so it's a hell of a time committment. But I don' konw a single person IRL that has ever regretted doing it once they finished.

I remember during the first season the Lost boards were saying how the Losties were in Purgatory.
The writers took the easy way out and went with that.

to the guy I responded to earlier and said most of the people that complain about the show probably don't understand it?

This right here ^^^^^ is Exhibit A. It's astounding how many people can say something like this while being completely and utterly wrong. You almost couldn't be more wrong if you tried.

I guess this is kinda sorta a SPOILER for the new folks reading this, but..

They were NOT in purgatory. The island was very real and everything we saw actaully happened. Christian explicitly explained that in the finale.

No he didn’t. And SPOILERS:

quote:

Christian Shephard
Yeah, I'm real. You're real. Everything that's happened to you is real. All those people in the church, they're all real too.

Jack Shephard:
No. They're all... They're all dead. I'm dead. You're dead.

Christian Shephard:
Everyone dies sometime, kiddo. Some of them before you, some... long after you.

Jack Shephard:
But why are they all here now?

Christian Shephard:
Well, there is no "now", here.

If they all died in the fricking crash, then they would have all died simultaneously. That’s not what happened at all.

Walt had the uncanny ability to go from age 10 to twenty years old in a single off season.

Yeah, real dead.
Boone, his sister (the hot Maggie Grace), and all of the others over the course of the series, all there at the church.
The church with the stained glass window representing all of the different religions, ffs.

I mean, the cast members had all sorts of different religions ranging from Catholicism, Protestantism, Judaism, Islam, and Buddhists, so I don’t see why that’s all that controversial that they met up at a place where the religions were celebrated.
