I honestly think some things are done purely for dramatic effect and have no deeper meaning or explanation. I think early on the writers did lots of things for dramatic effect and then the fans latched on to every detail and the writers eventually had to come up with a meaningful explanation.

I was looking at episode titles and I have hear a lot about "Flashes before your eyes". I think that is coming up soon in season 3 like episode 8 or 9. Also can't wait to see "Through the Looking Glass".
To be honest, I wish I could watch every show like this one. Just hours and hours of new episodes at your disposal and not having to wait between season breaks and hiatus's etc...

here is the thing.... i love reading the wiki part of Lostpedia... gives alot of FACTS!
the blogs and theories from readers on that site are absolutely horrible and absolutely stupid...
i have always loved TD's lost board because most were fairly smart and didnt read too much into small things that shouldnt be read into. People used to not make all encompassing theories...
Unfortunately with the increase in the quantity of the number of Lost posters on TD the quality has decreased to Near Lostpedia Blog level.
Alot of people have lost their minds on this board...

NO... NO i wouldnt... Lost keeps the world going around and while i hate some of the crazy theories on this site i cant help but continue reading them....

No, they made a point of it that some could and couldn't see.
As far as alt-Richard, depends how far back the split was. He may have gone on to whereever he was going (America?) with the Black Rock. If the island didn't exist at the time.

I could see how watching this show week to week for 6 years would lead to all sorts of crazy theories. The way it is written there are so many variables and honestly when you introduce time travel to a show then all bets are off.

The boy disappears and appears quickly, so maybe that's why Richard didn't see him when he was with fLocke and he was gone by the time he turned around to look. Not much of an explanation or theory, I know. But I think everyone on the island might be able to see him.
Or it could be that Richard isn't meant to see him like the others.

I usually watch the ABC sneak peaks for the next episode on darkufo weekly... I definately wont be watching the ones for the finale or across the sea but i did watch the sneak peak for the next episode and it was good.
they never really give away big spoilers but rather something to look forward to.

It could be as simple as just to string us along wondering who the boy is. Richard, Hurley & Flocke are the only ones who know what Jacob looks like as an adult. So you would assume that Richard would see the resemblance of the boy to Jacob and say "Hey! Is that Jacob as a kid!" Then there would be no mystery about the character.

so which character is the next episode centered on? I am sort of excited now, because all the characters have already had a centric episode this season and the remaining will either be multi-centric, MIB/Jacob centric, or a major character repeat (e.g. Jack)

For the people so concerned with the boy's hair color, does this photo of Jacob cause you to think it was relevant. Am I supposed to now believe that Jacob is MIB because his hair was darker in this shot than say....the beach scene with MIB?

I found a trailer on the blog for next *episode* that was just under a minute long. Jack and FLocke were talking, pretty cool.

Jack, in the alternate timeline. I presume that Des will get to him as fast as possible in case Locke is brought to his hospital.

which will be good since he is a character repeat this season. Jack has 2 centric episodes almost every season, which is way more than anyone else. That is yet another reason I still believe Jack will be the ultimate leader/new Jacob/hero/whatever.
Some have speculated that everyone will meet up at Locke's wedding. that would make sense and absolutely kick arse, but I am not so sure that will happen now. Locke's wedding hasn't been mentioned in ages.

I was thinking about that for a while. I was wondering if Anthony Cooper was really Locke's father...imagine if it was actually someone else that we already know.
It doesn't look like any of this is going to happen though after Desmond mowed over Locke. It's looking like events in the flash-sideways will culminate at the hospital.

there was a pretty big reveal in that clip though. Something we have guessed at but hasn't been confirmed on the show I dont think.

that wasnt a big reveal... it was something we have known for a long time if you read context clues
