I think Hurley and desmond make it deep into the finale and then die, leaving the BIG 4 characters alive - Jack, Sawyer, Kate, and Flocke in the final seen. Those 4 have more screen time than any other on the show.
In the final seen I think at least one more dies. Sawyer probably sacrifices himself. Kate either dies or becomes the "new Richard" - as Jack's medium to future inhabitants.

i just really don't see Hurley dying. I don't know why. It just seems wrong

Same here about MIB. I don't think he dies. If he's dead then there isn't a purpose for the island or a protector based on what we know now. That could all change after tomorrow night.
And I can't see Hurley dying. I don't know why, but that feels so wrong. He's always been a good guy and, aside from some Dharma food binges, never seems to be out for himself. But that could make his death really powerful.

Hurley. What if he becomes like the new Richard?
To get him to agree to the job Jack (Jacob) will promise him (instead of immortality) the power to never lose weight.

I was wondering if he was going to "take care of" Desmond

I had a hard time putting Desmond as dead, i hope he doesnt die. I just have a feeling there will not be a lot of survivors. Lost just doesn't seem like the kinda show that has a everyone lives happily ever after ending type ending,to me
Yeah, 2/3 of the characters die in my death list, to where if only 5 (counting Walt) main characters are left standing out of 30 thats a huge number of deaths in a series.

MIB though, I really have no idea. I know he'll lose at the end, but I have no idea how. Will he be destroyed, or will Jack figure out how to contain him as Jacob did? I think it would be a much worse punishment for him if he continued to live on the Island for a few thousand more years. Then again he may fear hell even more, which the Island could theoretically be resting on with Jacob's cork analogy.
I think Desmond is important to both sides, but I'm not sure how. I guess Desmond can neutralize the EM. Sayid thinks MIB wants him dead though. Maybe MIB has a plan to use Dessy to sink the island, or maybe that is what Team Jacob is going to do. I'm thinking MIB might want the island sunk, and Desmond and Jack are supposed to "lift it up." It sure would suck having to live on that island for a thousand years.
On a related note, did you ever catch the letters on Ben's van, how the "company" name of Canton-Rainier is an anagram for reincarnation? Someone posted that on here, I think.

If Hurley dies, it will be during/right before the Jack/MIB showdown. If Hurley dies he will either be the last or second to last death in the series. But I still seriously doubt he dies.

I think the well, but he could be headed to the beach where Jack, Hurley, Sawyer and Kate are mourning.

One begets the other
Edit: My question - what does Jack have to do in order to replace Jacob? Is there some kind of ceremony, etc.?

Sayid told him he killed Desmond and MIB seemed to believe him. He said he was going to finish what he started, which I took to mean he was going to try to arrange the deaths of the other candidates.

Something tells me MIB doesn't want to be anywhere near Desmond, which is why he had Sayid "finish him off" instead of doing it himself. He may not be allowed to directly kill Desmond either, even if he isn't a candidate.

I picture the end of the series being something like Kate, Desmond, and Hurley sailing away on the Elizabeth or something like that leaving Jack behind on the Island alone (with maybe the company of MIB).
I see it similar, except that I see Sawyer still alive instead of either Desmond or Hurley. At the last minute, Sawyer makes another sacrifice allowing Jack to leave with Kate and Sawyer stays as the new Jacob.
If not this, Sawyer will die while saving the others.
I think Sawyer will make a final sacrifice one way or the other because he will realize he has little to live for off the island.

i think OML's list is gonna be pretty dead on unless they decide to kill everyone and just leave jack and MIB. but i really can't see them killling hurley. it's like killing the kid in the horror flick.

people who admit to reading spoilers on darkufo should not be "speculating" on the dead pool. IMO. I heard you can get banned for that

I don't read any spoilers or even watch any of the previews. I've come really close to avoiding the threads on here as well, but I just can't help myself.

That would make 1000 years on the island way cool for Jack.

I only know the titles for upcoming episodes, their centricities, and that minor thing you posted.
