It hasn't been discussed. But if I remember correctly, they didn't stay in the time period with the statue very long so there is no way of knowing exactly when they were there. I assume it was pre-black rock.

I agree. I don't think that they were in that time period for long.

I posted this a few pages back but no one responded:

I've watched since Season 1 but haven't gone back to watch the earlier seasons so many things are "dusty" in my memory. But have we ever seen the area with the large tree and bench before where Richard buried the cross necklace?

So I guess the ship that Jacob and the MIB were looking at during last season's finale was in fact not the Black Rock?

That's the only conclusion that makes sense to me.

You are ultimately setting yourself up for disappointment. There were some comments in this thread on more "simple" conclusions and people responded with "If that's the case I'll be pissed," or something to the effect.

Theorizing I think is half the fun of the show. And I do agree that the simplest answer is usually the correct one (like the Black Rock taking out the statue, although I thought it would happen in a different way) and people who try to over complicate the show (time loop theories) are definitely going to be disappointed if they are clinging on to it at the end.

Could have been any ship now that we have confirmation that Jacob had been bringing people to the island well before the Black Rock.

The White Rock?

I kid.

Don't know if this has been mentioned yet, but when Jacob gives the MIB the bottle of wine at the end of the episode, MIB breaks it over a rock. Jacob tells Richard earlier to picture the wine as darkness, and that the island is like a cork holding the darkness in. Could MIB brekaing the glass be a clue to how he gets off the island?

There seems to have been few scenes with mirrors or glass being broken this season. Jack and Sawyer have both broke mirrors in their respected centics. Just a thought.

Yup, he's done this several times with the flashes. The first time I remember seeing it was with Juliet and Kate sleeping in the jungle.

The first time he did it was with Locke in season 1 episode 4. The second time I remember was with Eko in season 2, whose memories he used to turn into Remy.

Last week people held on to the notion that MIB couldn't lie or hasn't lied. Can that notion be put to rest after this episode?

MIB certainly can lie. Pretty much every appearance up to Season 6 was a lie. The most honest he has ever been is when he told Eko he wasn't his brother.

Wedding at Capernaum was Jesus' first miracle: turning water into wine.

Symbolizes a transformation.

Richard confessed, was "baptized", then received eternal life to live as an ambassador for Jacob. Another word for ambassador is "apostle".
