I think most of us have dined with the "feathered" one at some point. It's called the Tigerdroppings Tailgate.

I've always leaned toward the idea that this hasn't been their first go around.

More proof that this isn't the first time they've done this?

BTW, he picked the knife up instead of the Book of Laws. I'm guessing the knife was the original MIB's.

Overrated. I can barely get through the first page or two before I'm bored.

Yes. A 5 year old John Locke drew that picture.

Does anything thing there is something significant to the well we saw in the episode when locke went down and turned the wheel? i mean the well is basically where above the wheel, so one can assume thats why it is there

I'm just guessing that since Richard asked "Which one of these is yours?" Locke felt that the knife was his. Richard thought the compass was Locke's and was the correct answer, but Locke never had any affinity with the Compass to where Locke technically did the correct answer.

I read somewhere that the wheel will come back at some point and how the island moves and why will be explained.

great post. But it could be alluding to the fact that Richard had met adult Locke in the past during the flashbacks, and went looking for him

There is a grassroots movement to have Tyger banned from the Movie Board atleast until Lost is over.

Well, I guess I'm coming from the angle of "these items belong to Jacob or the person who is to replace Jacob". Richard looked pleased when he picked up the sand and the compass. Then when he picked up the knife Richard was visibly upset. It wasn't just a "no that's not it." It seemed like "shite!"

I see some pretty big parallels between Locke and MIB. MIB doesn't like to be told what he can't do. Neither did John. Crazy mom's. Their bodies were stolen from them (Locke was crippled). There are probably some others I'm leaving out.

It was hanging on John Locke's wall when Richard came to test him when he was five. I'm not sure what you mean.

I don't think Richard was thinking about who would be replacing Jacob at all. It was just to be the next leader. And he did say YOU not Jacob.

Remember back during the first few episodes when Kate tells Charlie that she recognizes him from somewhere. To me it seemed that she did not recognize him from Driveshaft.

Also, when we first hear Smokie, Rose commented that something about it sounded very familiar.

True. I'm pretty much just thinking out loud about these events happening over and over and wondering if it's internally consistent with what the show has presented. I have no idea one way or the other obviously.

As the current picture with the 2 timelines/Jacob/MIB/candidates/etc. is coming more into view, I can't help but wonder what the purpose of all the other stuff in the series was for. Yes, I know that the writers didn't know how long the show would run, although they had an idea for the beginning and end. They couldn't just unlease all this season 6 stuff on us in season 3 of course.

But looking back, what was the point of DHARMA? The polar bears, the experiments, brainwashing, etc. It seems like a lot of stuff that we once thought was uber-important now looks kind of insignificant compared to what's happening at present. Any thoughts?

Oh also, what is the Hanso's role in the whole thing? I know they started DHARMA (and it was funded by the DeGroots, or maybe I have that backwards?) and we saw last night a Hanso owned the black rock. Seems like the Hansos are deep in this thing but I don't know how.
