There are reports that SNL is looking at Kam Patterson from Kill Tony
It's insane that Kill Tony produces more potential comedic talent than SNL.
You could take the 5 best people launched on that show and the 5 best cast members of SNL over the last few yrs and it probably wouldn't be close.
Also, why would Kam Patterson do that show now? SNL cast members (especially rookie/young types) don't really get paid shite. I think around 2-3K per episode, and Patterson can probably make that or more for one club gig now.

Increase his profile, live in NYC and work those clubs for a bit. Kill Tony is big but SNL has to have a bigger reach.

For a touring comedian, being able to put SNL in his bio is going to do more for him in the random middle of the country comedy clubs than putting Kill Tony.

It’s confirmed. Kam is going to be on SNL. Wow.
I'm going watch every episode because I can't see him not slipping up and saying either n***a, frick, or frick-n***a. We know he dabbles in the last one from time to time.

Look at what people do after leaving SNL. That shows a cash cow for some people who weren’t even big on the show.
Eta: also, Kam being on that show now is WILD to me

All I know is when I look at comedy club schedules for like the Improv, people I've never heard of are charging as much or more than people I recognize because they used to be on TV.
Of course it doesn't give them the pipeline to national commercials and movie appearances, but some folks seem to be doing alright without having to move to NY and wait their turn.

quote:I liked Heidi Gardner, she was one of the longer time cast members and I thought she was very funny. Never heard of the others
It comes after Heidi Gardner, Devon Walker, Emil Wakim and Michael Longfellow left the show

Unless Lorne was publicly outspoken against Shane being fired when it happened, he’s full of shite. It’s easy to defend Gillis now that woke is basically dead and Gillis is a huge megastar in comedy.

Anyone believe him? I don’t. Convenient they are putting this out now after Shane has become really popular. I call bullshite.

he’s had shane on twice as a host.
You would think if he didn’t like him he wouldn’t be admitting defeat like that

I mean, where was he a few years ago saying this. What a POS.

So is it his show or is it NBC’s?

Gillis himself said Lorne could be totally full of shite about who made the call on the firing.
